*Disclaimer*
I want to say something before I start. I was raised by a Father who was ex-Military and worked for the DoD as a Quality Assurance inspector until he retired, so I had Integrity and Honesty pounded into my thick skull. I intend no personal slight to Balding Eagle or his skills...so any negative or criticizing comments I make in my review are based on my desire to report the truth (as I see it) and for constructive purposes. A manufacturing process can't be bettered if the problems are not addressed.
I also want to thank BE for this opportunity and for his generosity.

Received the sheath package today via Brown Truck...was packaged VERY securely in bubble-wrap, then encased in foam peanuts within a cardboard box. The sheath was in excellent condition, I would feel safe in saying it arrived to me in exactly the same condition it shipped in.
I am now keeping my eyes open for a bear...LOL
The F&F is great, it's truly a beautiful sheath. It is very sturdily-built, I have examined all the stitching and stamping, I have not found a loose or misplaced one yet. The color is nice, and the dye is uniform throughout, no major lighter/darker spots.
The design is simple and well-thought out, and even at first glance/handle it is 100% obvious it was crafted by a man who respects what he does and has an eye for detail/quality. If the Devil is in the details, this sheath is going to Heaven.
The hardware is Brass or at least Brass-coated, very Old-World and classy, and appears to be high-quality & heavy-duty. It snaps closed with authority, and without being TOO difficult to open or close.
Retention/Fit to the knife is EXCELLENT...I have NO doubt the retention strap is completely unnecessary.
hanging, no strap
I dropped it from this position about 10 times, at least a 24'' vertical fall, and then a abrupt stop when it hit the end. Not once did it fall out of the sheath, it did move, but not all the way out.
fully-seated in the sheath
a typical result of the fall/stop
The most it ever came out
Still secure in sheath even half-way out.
The belt-loop is rock-solid, it might as well be a one-piece unit as strong and tight as BE's stitches are, zero movement or weakness in all the added on pieces.
You can kinda see it below my love-handles LMAO
The only thing I would say could be improved/changed (right now, after initial testing..my opinion may change after further use) is the leather on the retaining strap could be a lil thicker stock, just for my personal taste. It is strong as-is though, and like I said before, the strap is not really even needed. BE told me he intended to add a shock-cord system to the strap, but he didn't have his supply delivered yet, if I had known before it shipped I would have had him make the holes and I would have added the shock-cord. But I aint cutting on it so it will pass-along without it.
So concludes Day 1
