Well I am getting ready for another trip to the jungle with the RAT Team. I will be posting my gear and list when I get that all figured out. These two knives are going to be used for utility and crafts for a forum review, along with a machete. I also hope to be testing another blade which I won't mention just yet. There will be some RATs to try out too. I will be updating with more pictures, for now.....JK Knives Hiker 4-inch and Breeden Kat 4-inch.

I should see my 4" Hiker about the time you're headin out.

That 4" Kat knife looks slick. Looking forward to some more pics of that one.

Those will serve you well man. After seein the patina that nessie you brought last time got, Im curious to what the JK, and KAT, will look like upon their return.

What machete you bringin?

Is the poncho you bring for sleeping a regular poncho, or just a poncho liner, or both?

Bear your gonna have a great time bro, go easy on the film crew!

J I think he is taking his 18" Tram.

I'm Looking forward to more of your reviews, because I haven't spent my daughter's college fund yet:rolleyes:

Thanks for looking guys.

Tramontina 18-inch with orange handles.

The last Nessmuk looked amazing after the jungle.

Airlines are not that big of a deal. One small suitcase with my gear pack and then extra city clothes tucked in the sides. Machete in sheath goes in the suitcase with knives and they are all checked in. I put a note last time that said Jungle Expedition, in case they were wondering why I had all the crazy gear. I will take some gear pictures and post soon.

Keep a wary eye on whatever you bring in-country. The Aduanas (Customs) in Peru had fun with some of my bags and lifted a few of my things. They and the baggage handlers have also been known to slice right into your bags and say that it was an "accident".

Bear,

Be safe and take plenty of pictures. I'm sure the boys at RAT will benefit from your company.

Have fun!

Thanks Bill and Kevin.

I just had a chance to open my large package after being out of town for a few days. Sheaths Jeff H made for my Tramontina 18-inch machete. I will post pictures when I get some light out. Let me just say that Jeff nailed it. It is a very original design, nice and light, perfect for suitcase travel and safe for boat travel. More to follow. Thanks Jeff, you better make more!

Thanks Hollow, but there are only 2 knives posted! Which one do you mean?

Forgive me Bear it's early and the coffee is just kicking in:rolleyes::foot:

The SECOND one. The angle on a few of the shots of the first knife threw me off.

Love the roundness of the handle on that one. I think the best handle(for me) is one that is maybe not so wide top to bottom but is very round and fat side to side like that one:thumbup:

Also looks like he went out of his way to grind the bevel a little longer to give you a finer edge on that!

Hollowdweller,
Believe it or not that handle was done with you in mind. I think it was the Gossman that you did the handle on that made me ask Bryan for that roundness. Good observation on the edge too, it's already 3/32-inch thick and the convex he put on it should make it the perfect whittler. I will post some pics when I get it.

Hollowdweller, I wish you would hit up Stomper, Breeden or Koyote with some designs, I know you have ideas brewing that would be perfect for these makers.
