Official Buck Picture Thread

Yep, made the handle scales myself.

I am partial to any Burl.
Also I think Birds Eye Maple would be pretty nice on a 279.

Do you know what the price is for a piece of that Amboyna burl?
Prices vary alot when I look for it :)
I'm not from the US so maybe that's why haha.

I ordered it online from Bell Forest Products. A bookmatched set of 2 pieces for $23
Other woods are way less expensive!
They have a great selection of nice hardwoods, and they vary greatly in price.

Price is not that bad then, I'll just see what kind of wood they sell here in the Netherlands. Ebony looks pretty cool as well!

Check out Tulipwood, I am doing a swiss army knife with some of that.
It is pretty awesome too.

My scales used to be a piece of wood like this:

Those are some neat scales. When i saw you're name I knew you were from Holland how's the weather over there, and what part of Holland are you from. I have been living ln the states since 1980, but I was born and raised in Zaandam.

Thanks! Weather isn't that bad right now. I'm from the southern part of the Netherlands (Maastricht). Making the scales was done in like 1-2 hours, not too bad I think.

Any more tips about some good looking wood is welcome.
