Official Jackmaster Baseball Knife

I'm letting my dad who is 93 enjoy this knife. He grew up in Baden, PA & told me how as kids they would play Baseball on his best friends wooden porch (1930's). They all carried knifes at an early age prior to High School. He said they also played a variation of what maybe Mumbley-peg. This knife looked like it was never used much. Developed a great snap after waking it up from a long time sitting.
Stamp is from 1945-1955 I believe.

That's fantastic, Tim! It's great to see one in such good shape, and wonderful you can enjoy it with your dad. (Play safely, you two!)

Now that we know it isn't the only extant specimen, you can feel free to play a round! :D

That's an awesome find! I can't imagine many of those are still around, much less in that kind of condition. Being a "youngin'", most "dangerous" games had been phased out long before I came into the world. I had never heard of Jackmaster Baseball or Mumbly-Peg. Thank you for sharing!
I'd never seen one of these before, and thought folks might find it interesting. A shell construction knife made by Imperial, 1946-1956, according to the tang stamp. It appears to have rules for some sort of 'baseball' game on the covers. I suppose you would take turns tossing it down on the ground, and score according to how it lands. I know mumbly-peg was a game that kids played with pocket knives, but I find the idea of the knife company printing instructions encouraging this pretty amusing. "Kids! Drop your knife on the ground, over and over, trying to get it to stick just so. When it breaks, go buy another one right away!" :D

Has anyone seen an Official Baseball Knife before?

Hi all, The way I remember it was that we played it on a picnic table bench.
Put the knife at a 45 with a finger under the handle. Flip the knife, and if it sticks the wood, with the handle touching, it's a single, if sticks but the handle doesn't touch, its a double...
past a 45 degree, it's a triple and a flat back blade up was a home run!
"That's not a triple" great fun old school arguments at recess.

Cool find... never heard of an official baseball knife. If it's not expensive, I'd love to buy it
