OK, I've made my choice. Case 6332 6 dot 1974. Here it is like it'll never look again, nice and shiny.

I'll keep it updated with occasional pictures.

I've decided that I'll carry one of jackknife's Peanuts. Carl, please PM me for my address to send it to. ;) :D

Actually, I think I'll try something different and get out my Stanley Trapper. (Made by Camillus, for United Cutlery, which Stanley Tools contracted with for their cutlery at the time.)

We're - hopefully - moving this month, and I'm in major purge mode, cutting up old boxes, doing yard work, painting, etc. I'm going to need a bigger cutter for a while.

So far the Large Saddlehorn is Cutting Bagels and Spreading Cream Cheese for the Kid's Breakfast...

I tested the edges this morning and they were still super sharp from the factory and I cleaned the gunk from the joints. Only food duty so far; Cut up a muffin for breakfast, an orange for a snack and just had a pepperoni roll for lunch. I can see the first signs of discoloration/patina from the pepperoni...

Mine is CPM154, so no patina, but I just opened the days mail with my trapper.

I'm in. Mine will be a Case yella pen knife that I got last father's day. I have only carried it a few times for fear of losing or damaging it. For some reason it just doesn't feel as sturdy as some of my other knives, but I guess we'll fine out.

I'm at work today, but when I get home tomorrow, I'll carry an old friend for this month. Boker Barlow 493 that my Papaw gave me many years ago. I'll get a pic tomorrow, along with it's twin that my Papaw carried.

Sign me up. I won't count today's Spyderco in my pocket :P I've been all tactical knives for too long. Carrying my Opinel up valley on Monday made me remember how rewarding a nice traditional is.

So, all month: Opinel #6, and Case SwayBack Jack CV. Opinel has a natural patina from being my work lunch knife, but never my "carry" knife. SBJ has a slight patina from cutting up some fruit and wittling when I first got it, never really carried it.

As promised, here are some pics of my June carry. I learned to bleed with this knife, and was apparently a slow study. :D

Mine is the top, my Papaw's is the well worn one. He would file the back of the blade where it contacted the spring to get this angle on most of his knives. As you can tell, he carried it more than once.

And.... I'm out. I just can't seem to not carry the 34 OT or Chestnut peanut. Oh well, at least I tried. :D

Okay, I can now say I am in for the challenge of trying out a knife for the month of June that has never gotten much, if any, pocket time. I have always enjoyed these challenge threads and learned a lot from the experiences of others. I have never completed one of these challenges in the past and am sure this will be tough as well (All in good fun though).

My choice, the Case Peanut, Yellow, CV... I have had for 3 years and never been able to put more than 2 days in a row of use on it. My SBJ or Case medium Stockman keep getting the pocket time. I also recently got an AG Russell Premium Scout NIB that I really like.

The plan, put the others away. I have put away most of the collection to keep temptation at bay. I hope it will help me focus on getting the most from the Peanut, just like it was my only knife. It has worked so far and I did start on the 1st as dictated by the challenge.

The past three days have seen good use for an EDC knife. There has been food cutting at lunches, opening mail, cutting down cardboard boxes, cutting trim line, string and plastic packing materials so far. I have always believed the Peanut is the "Little Big Knife" and am enjoying working it through for myself daily at this point. I will follow this thread and report in as the challenge proceeds.

Gruntmedic, those knives of your's and your papaw's are mighty darn neat! Thanks for posting them!

Thanks Johnny. It was the second knife he ever gave me, after a Kamp King. The KK was mainly used in the garden and playing Mumblety Peg, and as such was not very sharp.

I haven't been carrying a true (2 blade ) trapper since early February... Time to pocket one again:

GEC Texas Yellow Rose #73 2 blade trapper: My lovely, blood lusting knife.

You know if you cut yourself with that thing again, I'm going to have to take it away from you. - Ed J

Had a good time last night using my little GEC conductor to make dinner. It worked great on finely chopping garlic cloves and onions for the pasta sauce! The broccoli dis-assembly went well, too. Fun challenge, so far :D

The cannitler has been handling every job I've asked of it. The big spear was great scoring the kielbasa on the grill yesterday and I've been using the coping blade to open up packages and such. I also trimmed some grape vines that were making their way towards the grill.

GREAT thread. i'm late to this thread but i'm in. i'll put the SAK classic and case SB CV aside and carry this RR congress.

it's small enough, even for a congress, but has never really had the pocket time it deserves. plus, the blades are about perfect for the whitling i do from time to time.

I've been doing fine so far with my Imperial. I haven't found an everyday task yet that the blade was too short for. My only issue with the knife is that it always seems to end up at the bottom of my pocket and can be hard to dig out. In reality this is only a very minor annoyance and from carrying it I can see why so many like small patterns like this and the Peanut.
