I went in 1967. I was nine years old. A Cub Scout at the time. My Dad, Mom and 2 brothers also went.

As I recall, all or our activities were around the main camping area. I got to go on a horse ride which I thought was great as it was the first time ever on a horse for me.

Another great memory was eating rattle snake. We came across the snake on a day hike. One of our leaders caught it and we had the camp cook fix it up for us.

I just remember it being a really fun place to be as a nine year old.

1 - Year attended - circa 1994
2 - Capacity young-un
3 - Activity performed - short term trail crew, 5 day trek
4 - A piece of gear you consider an ESSENTIAL Top Ten item. Boots - (One Sport Moraine)
5 - Something you wished you would have left home (if any)
6 - YOUR best tip/suggestion/guidance/advice for someone preparing to attend. - Your sleeping pad makes a good note surface. One of our crew leaders had "the cremation of Sam McGee" written out on his. Good for campfires. You probably don't need as much gear as you think you do (except for a good strong bear bag rope)
7 - Last but not least...share with us a story from your adventure...any length...any subject.

I was building part of a new trail, and learned that it's easier to take the tree stumps out if you leave the tree attached!

And I might take you up on the leader space, if I wasn't going to be tromping about elsewhere!

Went in 90. Did Head of Dean, Dean, Tooth of Time, and climbed Baldy. I got second decree sunburn at Head of Dean on the first day, that was horrible, but I still loved every minute of the experience.
