Official Poll: Most Popular Buck Knife Model

Talking with a couple nonlnife guys last night the Iconic 110 is the Buck knife they think of

Whether I'm correct or not, this ^^^ is how I feel.

I RARELY use the word "Iconic". However, when it comes to the things like the "Shelby Cobra", the "1911", the "Cummins Diesel", the ".44 Magnum", etc., there are a few staples of "Americana" that actually hit that bar for me.

I don’t own a Cobra, but have the others covered.

I agree Iconic is overused, but appropriate in this case.

The 110! It's as iconic as it gets.

we are enthusiasts and will give different answers because we are familiar with more models, but for most people when they think " Buck knife " it's a 110 and to a slightly lesser extent the 119 special.
I recently discovered that I might have chosen the 112 over the 110 had I known about it as a kid, but the 110 is still the most iconic.

My favorite model as I'm sure many of you know is the 305, but it wasn't on the list.
Obviously it's discontinued and not many people these days see the value in a knife this small, so I completely understand why it wouldn't be on the list.

Looks like I'm the only one voting for the 501. I bought my first Buck knife, the 501, in the late 1980s. I still have it. Now, I have a couple 110. Buck folders are iconic and represent the American spirit.

I answered the second question: which is my favorite, the 303. However as many others have mentioned, the 110 is what most people seem to have in mind when they hear "Buck knife."

Heck, when I was a kid my dad gave me a little Utica lockback that he called a Buck knife. Maybe he didn't say the capitol letters (buck knife) when he referred to my knife, but he sure never called his stockman a buck knife. The lockback was key.

About twenty years ago, in 2006, a Buck company representative said in an interview that every fourth knife that Buck makes is a Buck 110.
I don't think the proportion has changed much since then.

I have them all, and love them all. But, of this list I expect the 110 is the most popular . My favorite however is the 102 Woodsman. I have probably used this one the most of all. Followed by the 303. I have carried many knives over the last 50 odd years, but Buck branded knives have been my favorite since I guess 1976 when I bought my fist Buck in the 301 model with lawn mowing money.

You and I agree. I voted for the 303, and if we could have voted for one folder and one fixed blade I would have named the 102.
