Official post your 2008 Archery Season Success stories

Congrats. I have been out three times now and have seen six bucks and over twenty does. I swear they have built in range finders because I can't get one inside 35 yards. They all have been 50-60 yards out. I use a climber, so I have moved around based on the previous hunt. They still keep that safe distance from me. The strange thing about my early season hunts is that I seen two bucks sparring very aggressively this past Sunday evening. This is very uncommon for this time in Michigan. Now after seeing Knifehunter's back straps I am really drooling to get out and fill the freezer.

Great pics. Its been really hot here in GA and I havn't had much luck. Hopefully it will cool down some and the deer will be moving more.

For such fragile-looking creatures, they are tough MF'ers! I wonder how far a human could go with the same damage? Probably just straight to the ground....

I have some Thunderheads, too. I almost tried some Montec G5s this season but I already have a whole box of assorted broadheads and expandables, so I kept the money in my pocket.

Stay sharp,
desmobob

I've had good luck with the montecs, however, at $10 per, it makes you think about where you shoot and where you don't. Here is the buck that I took 2 years ago near Ithaca with a 125 gr montec and my parker bow. That's my buddy's atv. Sorry it's not 2008, but that was the last time I had a chance to bow hunt, and I won't be going this year.

How about some peppered jerky for a passaround! Last one with the bag, refills it!

Nice pictures there KNIFEHUNTER!

YOU'LL BE EATING GOOD THIS WINTER!
That entry was damn near spot on.....You aimed well!

Congratulations on your harvest, Trevor.
I have bow hunted and shot target archery for years.
I am on all the archery forums and known best on Archery Talk.
Here's a pic of my custom Trails End recurve by Dale Dye of Montana.
It's made from Snakewood which, imo, is the most beautiful of all exotic woods on earth.
Sadly, had to sell her due to an injury. :(
Shown beside my target Bowman Accu-Riser Compound.
The finest and strongest built compound ever made !

Trevor,

I don't have any more and Dale is not building them now.
But Norm Johnson of http://www.blacktailbows.com still builds them for $1,595.00 and, imo, they're worth every penny !
Prehaps the most beautiful recurve in the world today.
Here's one Norm built of exibition grade Snakewood that went for $2,200.00 a few years ago.
It is Snakewood with Black Ebony accents and Myrtle limbs.
Some guys buy bows from Norm never intending to shoot them as they consider them a work of art which they are.
You should get one ! ;)

I left the bow at home today... it's NY Northern Zone muzzleloader week.

No blood on the Busse BAD today. I think it was bad kharma from leaving the bow home alone. :(

Sadly not able to hit the woods for early muzzleloader this year, but will definitely be in the woods for opening rifle this weekend.

I've been in the woods are archery and muzzleloader season and I havn't seen much deer. Its been so hot here in Georgia, but I think when it cools down it will be better. Nice pics.
