Alright ladies and gentlemen, our official SURVIVOR! sign up and member list thread is here. I will be updating this post with official member numbers. Post to this thread to apply for your official SURVIVOR! number. There was another thread started by Riz to determine interest for this, so please reapply to this thread even if you did in the other and even if I already added you. Here are some details: What is a SURVIVOR! and why would I want to be one? The SURVIVORS! were thought up by forum members and SURVIVE! knife users to support Guy and his company and to express our love of the brand. If you have a SURVIVOR! number you can proudly display it in your signature line, location line or even tattoo it anywhere on your body. How do I become a SURVIVOR! and get a number? First, please recognize that this process is not a responsibility of Guy's. He is busy making knives and running a company and stuff. I'm just an average forum member and those who will be helping are also just forum members. To qualify you need to: 1. Own a SURVIVE! knife 2. Have created 1 original and valuable thread in the SURVIVE! knives subforum. Value will be decided by us, but generally equates to a topic that generates positive and useful discussion. Examples of not valuable: "I ordered a knife yesterday, why have I not received it yet?" "I have a question that could easily be answered by looking at the S! website for 30 seconds, can you guys help me?" Examples of valuable: "Here are some pics of me using my new S! blade" "This is what I need in a knife, which amazing S! model would best suit my needs?" 3. Have created 20 original and valuable posts in our subforum. Again, we shall decide value. Value is usually a complete thought that positively adds to the discussion and thread. One word responses and smileys don't count. Forum contributions should be positive. Even if you meet the required numbers, if your general attitude has been negative or argumentative, you may be put on double secret probation for an indefinite amount of time before being granted a number. You can check your post count by going to your profile and clicking on the Post Areas tab 4. Be a forum member in good standing. If you get banned, you will lose your number Here's what you should do: 1. Own a SURVIVE! knife and post a picture of it in this thread or if you have a picture in the official pic thread tell me the page number of your pic 2. In the same post, add at least one link to a thread you've authored 3. In your post, list your post count in the S! subforum, not just all of Bladeforums 4. Let me know if you prefer a certain number (try to keep it in the double digits), otherwise I'll assign you the lowest number available. As of now this is a work in progress so please be patient and kind, but definitely feel free to ask questions. I can't guarantee when requests will be processed. I'll take number requests as they get entered into this thread. Here's the list: 1. Guy 2. Ellie 3. Silver Needle 4. RUNIT 5. Riz! 6. Standard78 7. Revolverrodger 8. ni1s 9. redwood22 10. Nice! Great job Mr. Needle! I am sure this will take off in no time and get things rolling around here! My only request is to change my number to 4.
Thanks! It had been done. I was looking at the old thread and just used those numbers. I'm glad I got yours updated.
Being part of the starter program should have some pull . IMO. I just hope this doesn't become exclusive like the Busse/Esse groups.
Hold on, the starter is over and doesn't have any connection to this thread. Being a SURVIVOR! won't get you any deals on knives. At this point it is more or less just for fun, but it would be awesome if it grew into something more someday. Also, this thread is not silly, it is awesome =)
I do believe the purpose of the Survivor! Thread is to get more people involved in this sub-forum. This is in no way anything exclusive. It is already generating posts, I like it!
#5 is good with me! Thanks for doing this. I am bummed that two people are already being negative about it. It is just for fun. No more negativity! Here is my link... http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1269856-Official-Fan-Club-Anyone 110 posts in the S!K forum And a glamour shot of my blades
Posting from an airplane somewhere over the Midwest... So I'll have to wait until I land to post a picture in this thread, I have exactly 25 survive thread posts (this will be 26) And started this thread; http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1280566-GSO-4-1-Sagewood-Dangler-Color-Question I do have a pic of some of my knives in the official thread, will add here when I land
Sweet! I looked up your family pic, so you're all set. You forgot one minor detail... what number do you want?
Hi Silver, count me in please. Number 10 requested if it's open, but I'm not picky. And thanks for heading this up  52 posts in Survive! subforum Link to thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1283185-Scary!-Sharp
Sign me up! Here is one post I originated, http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1266741-Cleaning-FDE-on-my-7-7 And how do i find out how many posts I've made in here? Also the picture...
Lookin good! You can find your post count in your profile under the "post areas" tab. Looks like you have over 50! I am sure the Silver one will be along to get you added.
Poromenos, welcome! The only point of business left to discuss is if you're ok with #11. Thanks, RUNIT! I need to get that part about finding your post count into the top post here.
I would be honored to be number #11. Edit: Do we have an official font/letter size/color for the signature, if we so choose to put one in? If not, should we? I think uniformity looks good and shows an organized community. My two cents.
Very cool idea. I'm all for whatever the majority likes. Uniformity is cool, individual expression is also neat. I guess this means I'll have to step up my game and get a membership to get a sig line!
