I like the laminate ZDP-189/ATS-34
and HA Type III Natural

Hmmm... is Type III natural grey or green? Doesn't matter to me, grey or green would be ok with me. If not HA natural, then plum.

Ummm... Besides input on blade steel, are we only talking about the color of the "Almite" coating? Both Almite and HA type III are both coatings, correct? So I guess true HA Type III in any color isn't on the plate?

Chuck

I'd take anything basically as long as its not FRN!

But as far as colours go I would like plum or HA III.

For steel I would prefer solid but im not that picky.

Maroon or plum color.

Laminated blade (ZDP/ATS-34) if the lamination line is straight and in the same place on both sides of the blade. Otherwise, solid ZDP.

Natural Type III HA is on the cusp between light grey and a very pale grey-green. It varies in tint.

To the best of my knowledge, "Almite" is the Japanese term for anodized aluminum (Type I, II, or III).

Type III HA is just hardcoat anodizing with a "natural" color. Most of what Spyderco uses falls into what I believe would be called Type II "dyed" anodizing.

Saying you want Type III HA is basically saying that you want clearcoat anodizing rather than dyed anodizing.

I know I've been pushing for burgundy, but practical considerations are influencing me to go for something which is less noticeable in the pocket (I haven't worn plum pants since the 60s :)). So here's my vote:

1. Type IIIA (natural) with burgundy as second choice.

2. Laminated blade, I don't mind which one.

Thanks again Carlos for getting this happening.

1) Chinese red

2) Laminated if the grind lines can be kept approximately equal on both sides of the blade - if not, then solid.

Me too,Bright Chinese red or saffron yellow

Lamited ZDP-189 core with H1 steel surrounding it!

otherwise ATS-34 with ZDP-189

I would like to see a blue handle (something like the color on the salsa)
with a ATS-34 lamination.

HA III and ATS-34 laminated - if it means the core can be run harder than solid. Otherwise either is fine.

1) Type III HA, grey / natural
For now I will not buy aluminum handled knives without Type III HA.

2) Solid is my preference, but either is fine.

This can be an awesome knife. Make it HA and I'm in.

Chris

1.
First Choice: Hard Anodized -- nobody appreciates scratched aluminum (brushed maybe, but not scratched).
2nd Choice: Any really dark red -- not bright "trainer" red.

2. Laminated (with damascus, if possible). :D

1. HA III (grey or gunmetal or however you wanna call it)
2. Laminated
That'll be sooooo cooool!
