Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
Hey Jaxx! From what Iāve read, these only came with black coating and Tigerhide scales. Iāve not seen anything else either when I was trying to confirm. All the pics of these Tigerhide scales look very much like this one.Nice stripper Badger
You're probably gonna hate me for suggesting that this handle might be that old school higher contrast tan canvas micarta.. which is cool & uncommon in its own right. I have a HRLM with this same type contrast tan canvas, which is why I would suggest this.

INFI Dimples are like fingerprints⦠and looking at the above pic compared to mine (below), it sure looks like it may be the same knife!
(ETA2 - Just took a higher-contrast photo and messed with it a bit to show the dimples better.)

I have a ZTNO handy...quick snap- same type tan handles (2nd pic) Look at your 4th pic down. No, I have 2 MS's with tan handles, and a BA-e with tan handles also.
I believe you can special order the tan, you may want to call the shop to be sure though.
Chip,
How is it you have 2 ZT SJ's and I don't even have 1?![]()

Sorry, missed the request. Itās 0.257ā thick.Strippers are the best!
Words I never thought I'd utter, but here we are......
We need a spine shot! How thick does it measure? I've seen various thicknesses for these so I'm curious if it's the thicker or thinner variety.
Congrats on the sweet piece! Love absolutely everything about this one.
Iāll keep that in mind. Not planning to let it go atm.Yeah. I bet that was in my hands at one point.
Dibs if you let it go? If not no worries
Yeah, I saw @mqqn ās modded one this afternoon after posting. LOL.I very well could be wrong. It's happened before...a lot
But... I tripped over a black canvas BAe on BusseCollector (1st pic), & one here that was reground by JK Knives (I think) that had tan canvas scales inside of 10min.
And this post here vvv on this thread- https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/how-about-a-few-zt-pics.223226/#post-1840010

See, thatās opposite of what I read. I saw they only originally came in black coating with Tigerhide canvas.I donāt think any original BAEs were made with tigerhide canvas. If any were it was after they were discontinued and a bladeshow special or the like. Those are likely brown canvas or even a unique batch of black canvas.
Edited to add snakeskin was around at the time, but Iām 99% sure tigerhide came a bit later.
Edited again to say I think these are black canvas.
@Jerry Busse could confirm.
I can tell you 100% that Badger Attack Ergos were not exclusively in tigerhide canvas.Sorry, missed the request. Itās 0.257ā thick.

There are definitely layers in this canvas, and the layer that looks like stripes in the scales is very greenish.
I oiled it, will see how it looks after a few days.

I definitely donāt think these are black canvas. I can only wish they were Snakeskin⦠but alas, theyāre surely not. Theyāre either an early version of Tigerhide (which Iām leaning towards), or some odd tan canvas like Jaxx mentioned.
Well letās just say itās difficult to pin down. I know there was black coated Tigerhide at some point. Iāve read old posts that said it was the main run. Itās quite difficult to find any good information and/or pictures from ~24 years ago, but please, be my guest and give it a shot. Prove me wrong, Iām done searching myself.I can tell you 100% that Badger Attack Ergos were not exclusively in tigerhide canvas.
I can also tell you that tigerhide first appeared either at the very end of the model run or after.
I do believe what you have was sold as black canvas at the time.

If itās black canvas micarta, itās the brownest black canvas Iāve ever seen. Perhaps itās somehow changed color as it has aged?Your new pix literally have me thinking that I was wrong, and it looks more like old black canvas micarta instead of tan...
I found a link to Bad Mojo via the Wayback Machine for you to check out a few images of other BA-e's. vvv
Regardless, as you said, it is old school badazz, & nice snag!
