Oh how I hate USPS

Just count your blessings they didn't ship UPS Innovation. That's where UPS picks it up then eventually hands it of to the Post Office for delivery. Ordered a knife from Ohio, (375 miles away) that was shipped to NC, 150+ miles past me then shipped back to my local post office for delivery. Close to 700 miles travel and five or six business days to cover the same distance you could in 8 hours by car.

I ordered a knife that was delivered by UPS Innovation... I live in NY, the knife was coming from NY, went to PA, then MA, then NJ, then to NY.

Dang, after all that travel I'd consider that knife "imported" rather than delivered.

Right now, I hold in my hands an envelope that started its journey in WA on 4/19/11. It arrived today, exactly 9 weeks later.

No fair to complain about any ONE shipment, whether package or letter. Do you report on every piece of mail you get, or just the ones that come late?

No fair to complain about items that go back and forth when this is how they get to and from sorting hubs. It may seem counter-intuitive at first, but do you really think the shipper is going to pick up a package and put it in a car and drive it 8 hours to make a personal delivery of that one piece?

No fair to complain about USPS tracking when USPS isn't providing tracking, they are providing delivery confirmation. That DC service gets ticked off along the way for internal postal information, which the service lets you access. but it is not meant or sold as a tracking system.

I've zero issues with USPS in 15 years of dealing on-line. I've had zero issues with UPS in 15 years of dealing on-line. USPS is my first choice as long as the package isn't too big. Big packages get driven to the UPS hub.

I've had so many issues with Fed-Ex in 15 years of dealing on-line, I won't buy or sell if the other party insists on Fed-Ex. Maybe it's just the local hubs in this area, but the Fed-Ex service SUCKS.

Could be worse.
You could be waiting for the Canadian Postal Service to deliver a knife to you.
That's where I am at the moment. :p

They are still walking the picket line last time I drove by the central depot here. With no end in sight.
USPS has been pretty good to me. Vintage motorcycle parts from New Yawk to central Canada in about three weeks. This is close to miraculous when you consider that customs first has to: 1. Lose the package. 2. Delay it as long as humanly possible. 3. Confiscate the item.

USPS is getting worse and worse, today I received my new Muk with the box smashed on both ends and one of the ends was pretty much opened up. I simply reached in and was able to freely pull the knife out. Now imagine if that package was suppose to be shipped internationally....:thumbdn:

Went to post office today and picked up my package. My neighbor who works at said PO found it. The package was placed in the wrong PO box, it arrived at my Post Office on Monday.
