Oh, If Only Busse Had Made A Bowie Knife 180 Years Ago. . . . .

If Busse had made a knife 180 years ago, we would all be arguing what a real Busse Knife looked like.

This thread makes me want to get a NMFBM CG and put a really wicked clip point on it ...... :D:D:D

It would be really cool if Jerry made a Sheffield style bowie in INFI. Something light and fast with a wicked sharpened swedge.

It will probably be HAMMERED:eek::D

I got to admit that would be a great offering :thumbup:

I have always thought a sharpened swedge is a useful feature on most knives .... it protects the main blade near the tip if you wanted to do things like reaming holes in wood .... just use the direction of the swedge for turning .... if long enough you could use the swedge for clearing bush near the ground where stone chips are likely .... means you can use a nice sharp tip and edge for game work .... like cutting around the anus when gralloching a Deer and needing to pull through the bowel ....

For brush work I have been thinking of maybe putting a sharpened swedge on one of my Khukri's .... but you could make a really wicked old style shape from the CG NMFBM .... I like the old style look but not handles that are coffin shaped and uncomfortable .... well .... maybe not uncomfortable but not AS comfortable as the hand shaped smooth magnum grips ....

Anyway .... what a change there is at Busse .... when I first came here the FBM LE and the ASH LE were up on the store and the ASH seemed to be there for ever .... now there are knives coming out SO fast you cannot keep pace with them financially .... AND they are all great designs ....:eek::cool:

This Bowie is coming out of the Busse Custom Shop and will be the first of many "Busse Custom Shop Only" models.

How will they be sold? Ganza? Main site after the KZ2?

Ok, where is it already???????

Here is what I hope it can resemble.

I'm thinking they'll use the left over BWM's as the base patterns maybe?!?!?

That would make a good one. It's the right size and thickness for a good Bowie blade. Who knows? Maybe I'll make one of my BWMs into a Bowie. I have been known to do such things.

This line of custom shop only models will depart from the Busse Combat rules and will feature some very non typical Busse Combat-like design elements!!!! :eek:

Well I am definately now thinking of doing a swedge on my BWM CG .... as HD says it is the ideal size and weight ..... very fast .... it would make an excellent fighter ..... :thumbup::thumbup:

The lines on the BWM are ideal for a clip point Bowie ....:cool: Or maybe the FBM Satin Over run ???

I would imagine either one Peter would make for a good bowie. But the CG looks like it has a good start already. But it just depends on which one you use the least i guess.
