yes, unlike todays knives, that blade is not an exact thickness. All of the SHBM's had different thicknesses. Some where .254, 0.256, 0.262, 0.265, 0.270, 0.271, 0.275, 0.280, 0.282 ,etc. I even had one that was 0.245 coated, which was the thinnest one I have ever seen. Coating adds about 0.012" to the thickness of the blade. So Guy's knife would be closer to 0.29 if it was coated.

I did not start seeing uniformity in thickness until the E-handles came out.
