It appears that the angle between the talon holes on the fat ash and the ash 2 are the same, meaning the handle length will be the same, but the ash 2 does appear to have a wider handle to me, although this may be due to a lack of rounding as bullpin suggested. Run on sentence FTW!

So is the ASH2 handle slightly bigger or is it my eyes deceiving me?
They are very similar...the differences don't seem noticeable.
