Oh My.. You need to check this out!

Gibberish,

I found your site on the web, and it has a link to the same BaliSong Vid. w/Sage. That is an AVI as well, now is that a regular AVI or the Super-Star Spangled SEARs AVI I am having problems with?

This is weard man! I hope you are not just making fun of me! I don't belive you can't rename the file. Ok, this is how you should do it: rightclick on the file (the bali.dat you downloaded) and choose "rename". Then, you can modify it's name and extension, and instead "bali.dat" you type "whatyoulike.avi". That's it! I have named it .dat and not .avi so people behind firewalls can download it. There are firewalls that doesn't allow .avi files.

Dude,

It's coming up, "File Format is Invalid."

Yet, I have no problem whatsoever with Clay's AVI Files. Damned if I know what the deal is, makes no sense to me either.

I can rename it all day long and call it "Hopscotch" if I want to, that is not going to make it valid apparently.

Don, which website are you talking about? I am an affiliate of thestringcemetery.com, and i didn't know there was a link to Sage's bali vid on it... Anyway, i personally think that regular avi is horrible and outdated... So all the videos on thestringcemetery.com that i'm in are either divx avi, or mpeg... Sorry about all the problems you're having with divx, i really don't know what's up with that-

Don,

You might be having the extension hidden, that doesn't allow you to rename, i.e. xxxx.dat becomes xxxx.avi.dat is not allowed.
Try open one folder, you go to View, Option, and look for a tab/option to view the file extension...

Must confess that I didn't understand much of that music. Either they talk really "funny" or I must improve my english. I figgured out some words, but no frazes. From your post it looks like it's not worth anyway.

WindBlows is still jacking me around, I checked everything, it is an AVI, but for some reason, "File Format is Invalid." Yet, I can still play other AVI.

A possibility could be that your Mediaplayer is not up to date. You can download the last version (for free) from Microsoft. If you don't feel like doing that, just get the .mpg (or look at it directly) . Man, you have some bad luck!

Flava,

I don't know if it is luck or what. Personally, I think it is just a glitch, probably due more to America Online than WindBlows. AOL has problems changing and corrupting files at times. They of course deny that, but it is true.

There is absolutely no reason that the AVI should be an invalid format, logic would have it that the AVIs I have would be an invalid format then. Such is not the case.

Added to which, I downloaded the other thang to play it with no luck either.

And did everything else...no go.

SO...thanks for converting it! I really appreciate it.

As for Sage, he is really good. The YoYo tends to make you have "the touch" and to have good wrist flexibility.

Learning how to make a YoYo "sleep," learning a BaliSong and something like lockpicking are all cool things to do as they require not only dexterity, but alot of feel, etc.

I have always been focused on the Combative Aspects of Edged Weapons, I love BaliSongs, and alot of other knives too...

Anyways...

The tossing and catching, I have never even tried. I just don't have any interest in it at all...but I sure do love to see it! Clay and people like Sage that can do that are indeed BaliSong Masters it is just something I myself never focused on.

The rapid openings and whatnot, although they can be flashy, still make you One with the Knife. And those I do practice.

I love YoYos and Spinning Tops too, HackeySack...you get the idea.

I wish I was 25% as good as some of the KIDS under 12 years old I have seen in some of these video clips (with a YoYo).

Thanks flava, for making it into a file that doesn´t need a more stuff on my computer. I have a fast connection (cable) but the RAM memory is the limit. It really annoys me when you can push over 500 kb/s and you most of the time only get up to 300. Don´t have much freespace on the hard drive either.

Great fingertwirls! Makes one envy. I´m still working on my windmills and handtransitions. Great inspiration.

A big thanks goes out to Gibberish.

I haven't gotten this vid yet, but will later at home(at work now).

Don Rearic,

I have run into this plight in the past. The issue is that not everything that says .AVI is of the same version. Kind of like every version of Spyderco Delica isn't the same. They have same name, but are different.

If you have an older version of the .avi codec in your windows media player, it won't be able to decode anything newly made. You may want to upgrade to the newest version of media player, or get something like realplayer or quicktime.

These are quite viable options and may correct the issue. Feel free to email me if you need more help.

>>AND I AGREE, WE HAVE THE BIGGEST VIRUS: MS WINDOWS!

It does not seem to be getting any better. A operating system is suppose to be a place to launch programs from. Once the program is launched the operating system has done it's job and should go home.

John - of course it's not getting much better. If it were actually reliable, we wouldn't have to keep upgrading ours, would we?

If you ask me, I smell some funny business.

I only managed about 27%. Hope I didn't miss too much! I really don't feel like screwing with it after Mr. Don's input.

I think Sage's Video is interesting in the extreme in one way...how the YoYo and the BaliSong are so similar. Watch the wrist. It's sort of cool in a way. Especially since I like both the YoYo and BaliSong!

Don, you're into yoyos as well? Only other guy i know that is really into knives and yoyos is Bandit (not into balis really though...) But you should check out www.yoyoing.com/sectory and check out the irc chat at irc.yoyoing.com #yo-yo port 6667... and the bali and yoyo aren't really *that* similar, other than the aspect that they are both skill toys involving lots of finger dexterity... And the aerials are a lot like juggling, where the throw motions have to be the same every time.-
