Oh NO! Save us from..."Another request for advice on a fixed blade knife"

Bark River all the way!! But be careful, they are addictive!:D I have an Aurora in Blaze Orange G-10 with solid pins and a matching firesteel and also a Huntsman in Black Canvas Micarta with solid pins and they are both absolutely amazing! Next for me is a NorthStar and a Mini or Micro Canadian...I would also throw in a couple Moras and an Opinel folder...Great little knives for the money...

just checking. I usually only do them to order and I had thought only 3 people ordered them that way. I was right! My brain works :D

Stingray mentioned Scandinavian knives. Like Frosts I take it. And yeah I LOVE those. I can never get over how great my little Frosts Mora knife feels and how well it works. I'm playing with it right now actually ;) One thing those guys haven't seemed to get 'right' though (IMO), is their sheaths. Why do they make such a great knife and then put it into a sheath that looks like it came from a dollar store?

D

I've been real happy with a brusletto trollkniven i picked up at ragweed - it's stainless but there's a lot of other options at ragweed

+1 on the RAT3. I think it would be perfect for what you want, but I'm a sucker for that knife so I'm biased. Good suggestions though.

BRKT Bravo-1! It's the only fixed blade I use anymore. Here is a review with alot of pics in it.

bravo-2027.jpg

I just relented and bought myself a bravo-1.Largely due to your great review and the advice of others on this forum. Now I just have to wait for the mailman to deliver.
If not a Bravo-1 then I'd suggest a Fallkniven F1.Should fit your needs very well.

Since you included hunting and skinning in your uses be sure to look at the Bark River Knife and Tool - Fox River model.
Look Here to see what Marty Simon thinks about his.

Hi Doc,

Sorry for being so late to reply to your post. Personal matters (aka
mother-in-law visiting) forced me off the computer for awhile.

Bought the LittleFinger off of the auction site when I just began collecting
knives. I guess I've had it for a couple of years now. I got it when I got my
daughter a Scrimshaw'd Sharpfinger.

According to the seller it was marketed as a kit for people to be able to do
their own scrimshaw designs on. The auction mentioned that it was "new
old stock" from the Elin plant. Don't know how much truth there was in
that, as I couldn't prove or disprove his statements from what research I
was able to do.

Dave

What's the story on the scales on the Schrade at the bottom of the picture?

Doc

I noticed nobody else mentioned fallkniven
