OH OH, I feel a new addiction coming on.

Ooohhhh.....nice! But between the forum knife and the Stew's blade TC and a couple of other little toys, the knife budget is getting stretched to bursting point! Still.....looking at pictures doesn't cost me anything right?

I picked this little Thiers up on the exchange and all I can say is wow. Such an elegant, simple design that fits your hand so perfectly. The Juniper scales add to the simple beauty of this knife, the fit and finish is close to perfect. The blade to backspring join is virtually invisible and the blade is razor sharp. I can see more of these on the horizon. Help feed my addiction and post pics of yours. Sorry for my always bad pics :o

Best regards

Robin

That my friend is a real sweetheart of a knife!

This is the way I've been. I don't jump on every new knife that comes out and it doesn't cost me a cent to look.

Thanks for all the comments and pictures folks. This knife has been a series of discoveries for me, it's quite different in construction to other slip joints. The tang has a rectangular "key hole" and the back spring has a "key" that snaps into the tang and acts as a lock. The tang is very different from a "normal" slip joint tang between open and closed.
The real difference is the construction. Of the three scale pins the only one to go through the back spring is the back pin, the center pin is not the back spring pin so there must be another under the scales. When closing the blade when the tang is pushing the back spring up at it's max it looks like the spring pin is located right under the middle scale pin.
I Guess it could be possible that the back pin is the spring pin. Anyone ever see one of these apart?
Sorry, My macro setting is not being cooperative.

Beautiful knife! They have always intrigued me. Just wondering if you would mind posting a pic of it with another traditional? I've seen the specs, but would like to see how it compares to something else (maybe something in the 3.5" range)…thanks for sharing this beauty.

Pretty sure the backspring pin is not showing on the scales, those pins are more in the middle of the handle, if you look inside with a flashlight you'll see the pins coming through the liners, so the other pin is covered by the scales.

Thanks Gary, that's what I thought. It's some serious extra work to build it that way though. The back pin goes through the scales and the back spring, the other two are visible inside.
