No, I am not losing my mind but just wondering if anybody has read the book or heard about it.
I just saw the end of the film on the Fox Family channel (14). It supposed to be based on a true story and the diary of Marry ... (?).
My understanding: family goes for the gold in Alaska (?). .... (?) happens and Mom gets stuck in a cabin separated from Dad and kid. Winter comes. Bruin comes too, dog bites dust. Mom shoots bear then gives birth. Spring comes as well as Dad and kid. All OK.
Any opinion on the book?
Thanks,

HM

You just ruined the ending for me!

HM- Your apology seemed so sincere that I thought I should point out that I was only joking- hence the use of the big smilie.

Actually, I've not even heard of the specific story you've described, so I was not actively reading it. But, Alaska certainly has no shortage of hardship/survival stories. I've yet to hear/read/see one that wasn't at least informative if not also entertaining.

I hope you do not feel that I've treated your post with disrespect. If so I am sorry. Your question has piqued my interest, and I'll be watching with you for a serious, informed reply.

How about the one where they crashed the plane. An old guy aboard knew "All about survival, from books. They wandered around the wilderness, wasting matches in cigarettes, and letting their fires die out at night, forcing them to make fire by shaping ice into a lense and focusing this on tinder!!!! LOLROTF

Thanks Machete but it's too late.
I have already organized a long weekend escape to overcome my depression in the Adirondacks

I have seen Edge whitch I found reasonably good. That also takes place in Alaska.
