Oh, there will be chopping...

WOW !......that's a very a useful and handsome looking piece of kit.

- regards

sorry mneedham - no action pics as I am in need of a new camera. I am glad someone else appreciated the design :)

Ilbruche saw it and e-mailed me, he wants to make pants for it

Thats a win-win situation for me - I get to make a knife and get out of sheath duty!
If he makes a belt sheath then I hope you wear suspenders as you'll need them to keep your pants up:)

Thank you for designing that blade, I really like it. I hope you don't mind my asking Bruce to make another...

Part way through the project I though I should let Kris know that I'm making another one of these very similar to the one he designed.....no problems as he was glad someone else appriciated his design.

Both of these choppers were collaboration with D'acry Ellis (they both carry dual makers marks). He forged the bevels, and I did the rest. I guess I did get in about 3 hammer/heat cycles during the forging. I just recently started forging and I'm working on my 4th forged blade.

Bruce - Ilbruche usually does a baldric or belt carry option for these big blades like this, typically quick release:

BTW, What steel did you guys end using for this blade? Thanks again...

That sheath looks excellent!

Here are some in progress pics from Klammers chopper:

The sawblade (I can't say for sure that it is L6, but it's tough steel and makes a great blade):
