Oh well...

My $170 bm 760 in CPM-M4 (harder to sharpen than D2) steel came dull as a door nail with a inclusive edge angle around 80 degrees but you wouldn't see me sending it back so the same person could sharpen it again or to waste my money in shipping. Come to think of it if I was judge all knives by their factory edge I probably wouldn't own any knives.

Just sharpen it, it won't be the first time or the last that you will need to do it.

kudos to esav, all knives are going to need a new edge sooner or later. most forum members seem to put their own profile on edges before they are happy.if one is going to use the premium steels available then you need to get diamonds & go to maintenance section if you do'nt know how to sharpen . there is no use in having a knife if you ca'nt sharpen it. if you buy a gun do'nt you get someone to show you how to clean it.

I'm probably goin' to catch some flak on this, but here goes: just take a  carbide sharpener (metal removal system :D) and take the edge to almost where you want it, then finish conventionally (how you would sharpen otherwise).

Seems that would be easier that repackaging, mailing, then trying to get your money back.

If you can't sharpen a knife, you shouldn't own one. It's absolutely ridiculous to have to depend on sending a knife out to be sharpened.

Do you also avoid woodcase pencils?
