Oh what fun

Get up and go! Don't let a little stab wound slow ya down!

Best wishes for all that surgery. I just had a hip joint replaced -- I hope all of yours go as easy as that. No pain, quick recovery. A good surgeon goes a long way! The rehab was fun, a couple hours a day of kindergarten exercises and sleep the rest of the time :D

Who's the wise guy who thinks a prosthesis is a good idea? I guarantee you it is not :barf:

I wanna party with you, man!

That said, my wishes for short surgeries and rapid healing are with you!

How did I miss this thread? Dear God man! Stabbed then shocked? At least one of them was voluntary. Best wishes on a speedy recovery

You should change your real name to Leonidas as your getting messed up on a daily basis!

Good night Jason! Man, I hope you at least get your own coffee cup at the hospital like Tim Allen  I'll definitely be praying for you

It has been an interesting year. March 1 - "T" boned by a high driver...light neck and back whiplash, August - tore tendon in right hand arresting a fella. This past Sunday - stabbed by good friend in my arm. Yesterday - tased. 18th scheduled for first of 3 knee surgeries. And loved every second of it all.

It's all about the journey in life. :D

GF you are a steely eyed ninja my friend! I Look forward to meeting you some day.

Are you coming to blade?

Lawrie.

GF I am proud of you seeing that outlook. It IS all about the journey. I say to myself that as long as I can die with a well written story I will be content. Along the way we are the authors of our own adventure. This experience will be the chance to test your will and master your body and learn thing about yourself you never knew before.
The circumstances suck but I already applaud you on your outlook. I owe you a shot. Would love to meet ya and let you collect on that debt. Good journey sir.

Pictures to follow.

Due to a "few" drinks and some horse playing. I ended up with a Spyderco Tuff jabbed into my forearm tonight. Hey, what are friends for if not for stabbing you. But this pales compared to the impending surgery I face. A staple from my previous ACL reconstruction has been backing out of my tibia and loosened to the point the Achilles tendon that was used developed enough slack to where it got shredded in my knee. Soooooo now I face a revision reconstruction. BUT first surgery will be taking "plugs" from my hip to bond to the holes in my tibia and possibly my femur, depending on what the doc sees after he opens up my knee. Then 2-3 months after that, I will have my hamstring sliced to use as a new ACL. What fun I will face in the next few months........

But this is delayed due to open wound on my arm.....from my friend. What a turd

I thought you had separated and weren't living in the barracks any more :D

Where will they be doing your surgeries? This is service connected, yes? I strongly advise that you try to get it done at BAMC.

To quote Trumby's sig line on Rat Chat.

"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but to skid in sideways, worn out, shouting 'holy $hit what a ride'! "

Journey? My friend, your life has been more of an adventure from the sounds of it. And who doesn't want to live an adventure? :D

Cav, it is service injury. We were conducting MOUT training at Ft Hood. A bad pile in a stairwell and a few of us went down. Tore my ACL. Had an allograft (Achilles tendon) and it failed, now a 17mm channel has formed along with the staple backing out the tibia a great deal and even the screw in my femur is backed up a little.

The thought of you being certified to tase is scary. I mean I could see where we could have some fun with that but I am still kind of scared of what could come from this.

Have a good doc there? If not, I'd recommend BAMC. They've gotten pretty good at putting us back together...

Bring some loktite in on the 17th with you haha. Seriously though, hope it goes well for you!

Gravel, I just had my meniscus repaired/removed on Jan 3rd. Still recovering a bit. Ive had 2 ACL recontructions 3 years apart and this is my 3rd Meniscal repair/removal. My knee is screwed!!!

Stuck on Sunday and got tased today. Let me tell you....it is an unique experience. X26 is no joke! But now I am certified and will "spread" the love when given the chance . 5 seconds never lasted so long. And my lovely department opted for the 1/2 probes instead of the 1/4.

We still have a few M26s laying around. 5000 volt ride vs. 1200 on the X26. People that have been hit with both say the M hurts significantly worse but the X debilitates better. Neat stuff.
