On the flea bay there is a competition finish tglb with tan and black g10 and a spec ops sheath. The guy wants 1200 bucks for it.... Surprise it wasn't liu wang either. That's just insane

Get over it. Aint your business what another man charges. No one is forcing you to buy. Deerrrrrrr

Ok I'm with Eric on this one....this is not the forum to come and complain about another sites pricing....some people have more money than sense.

I have seen that same tglb sell for 3000$ on eBay , not every knife buyer is as educated on prices as the average forum member

Although those $3000 ones were brought up here too. I always figured it was to catch your eye and then when you went to the person's website to see if all their prices were like that you found the more competitively priced ones..

For a time they were going pretty hot on eBay. I put mine on and let it go at auction and got almost $1k for it (it had black micarta handle even). Maybe the dude doesn't really want to sell it and is seeing if he can get a premium otherwise he'll put it back in the safe. I'm actually not surprised at any prices I see on a Busse and I doubt anyone here wouldn't pay $1200 or more for a grail, especially one with a discontinued finish or a hard to find gem. I paid $1600 for my grail Busse, then another $200 on a sheath, so...

Guys cut it out,

The OP posted a thread and shared his thoughts. If you don't agree that's fine. It's a little childish to antagonize someone who is understandably surprised with a VERY high price tag. Eric is a good guy and well respected around these parts -- but I imagine he's not in the best mood and is probably a little sensitive about the subject -- given how often people unfairly criticize buyers who resell for profit.

To the OP I'll just say that a majority of forum members would agree that the price tag is amusingly high. However, I believe that if someone out there is willing to pay that much for it -- then awesome for both parties! 'Merica!!!

I thought this would be a fun thread talking about how crazy it is to spend that.... I didn't think everyone was so defensive. I'm not normally horrible about reading the room. Sorry to all offended, but should you really be, this is a forum. Seems like the rule is talk, maybe trash talk but understand that anothers opinion isn't worth ruining your day over. Especially not to snap to some defensive stance right away. We could have talked reasonably.... That's the goal, correct? Sorry to Derrick but I'm ignored so he won't know. Sorry to all. Just don't be so snapoy unless you expect it back. Life's rule, not mine.

That is the calm explanation I needed. It is humorous, but can't be spoken of. Gotta love that free speech, 'Merica

I wasn't offended. :) I'm just not astonished at Busse prices. I was at first, but that's back when I bought my knives at Dick's Sporting Goods. Now I get it.

FWIW, I see both sides here. I see no problem with someone making a profit on what they sell- even if it is a bit extreme at times (how do we know their kid has cancer or something and they are trying to find funds by any means necessary?) and at the same time, I see no problem with pointing out when someone thinks its excessive. This is the way a society works, no point in getting "ruffled" over it.

Also: I have had a lot of great experiences with sellers here in the exchange recently. I don't keep a lot of cash around, and I don't use credit cards, so often I have asked if something could be held til payday- usually less than one week. I have yet to have someone say no. I have asked numerous sellers if they would take a MO instead of paypal. (I avoid giving my money to anti gun companies whenever I can- I have quit doing business with numerous locals over this). Every seller has said this was ok, even if they really didn't want to. I will continue to do business with as many folks here as I can. Every single person I have dealt with has been more than friendly and courteous. Its a good place to be!

Rob do remember correctly that you work with special needs kids? I think I read that on one of your posts and remember thinking that it was cool
I detect professional peace keeping skills at work here. A moderator in the making.

This isn't the first time you've had a problem "reading the room" recently. Are you the pricing "hall monitor"? :p. Just giving you a hard time.

I find this post hilariously ironic. Remember how you acted when I pointed out that your knife was a TGLB?

I highly doubt those were legit sales. Shill bids have been happening since the creation of auctions.

I think the issue here is that we've beaten this dead horse so many times that people are sick of hearing about it. We need to understand that some people haven't seen all the past conversations. We were all new once and we have all asked questions that have already been answered.

Thanks blade runner. I've offended you before and I'm sorry for my ignorance on that occasion. It was my ignorance after all.

I have been on this forum less than 5 months and have never seen a thread about this. If I think of something or find something ridiculous in the now why would I research the past to see what people feel now. The point is everyone just got back from blade staring at Busse company pricing where as you can buy three for 1200 bucks and think that one is a good deal.

If there kid has cancer then I'm sorry, cancer has taken 4 people from me in 3 years one of which was my step father(basically father) at the ripe old age of 49. Cancer sucks but my post was not about cancer or the sellers needs or reasons for selling. He is selling what looks like is his extra camping stuff. If the kid is sick you better be selling more than your tent and some knives. If you hear insensitivity, it is frustration cloaked in insensitivity. I'll just put a running I'm sorry in my signature line.

I also noticed that Breavis is a fairly new member here and may not have understood dericdesmond's sarcasm. I did when I read the first two posts. I also remember reading Boss Hog's thread about being nice. I think we should talk more about the OP's topic also. That being said, I couldn't agree more with you Breavis....I think it's crazy...and feel for the guy who dumps the cash on it.
