what ya'll got goin' ?

It was 60F or so yesterday but the front that blew thru last night dropped it into the 40's and it is getting colder...it's coming your way.

I finally have a 3 day weekend and I am working on a 8.5" fighting Bowie....gonna start forging here in a bit.

Friday! Yeehaa!

Shucks, all it means is the end of the week to me. There's never an end to the work. I got some o/t here tomorrow. I'm lucky to have it. I make a pretty hefty wage, so time-and-a-half for me is way too hard to pass up. I'm saving right now to buy supplies at the NYC show anyway. Besides, Linda would just put me to work inside the house. I got to run to Home Depot tonight and pick up a load of trim boards and mouldings anyway. Can you guess what I'll be doing Sunday? :grumpy:

I do hope to profile a couple new blades Sunday afternoon though. :D

Oh, and I DROPPED 4 POUNDS LAST WEEK! WOOHOOOO! Feeling better. :D

Glad to say I'll be in the shop Sat morning and then off to a movie date with my wife sat night. Pretty relaxing weekend!

Just checked the temp -20f and it isn't going above 0 until mid next week -- O WELL :grumpy: If my truck keeps starting at least I can go to the shop :D I bet you guys don't know any thing about having more projects than you could finish in 2 life times

I cant imagine having as many irons in the fire as you Pete. I guess that's what keeps ya young:)

It was freakin 65 the other day, now it's 14. Stupid Missouri weather. :grumpy:

Going to try and do some knife work and do a little duck hunting. Maybe try to watch a couple movies too if I get some time. :)

Boy I'm I sick of all this fricken rain! :grumpy: It's been raining off and on all week. Last night it rained cats and dogs. My front yard is a mess! I've been trying to get outside to grind some micarta for a large 5160 camp knife I've been working on. Got out yesterday when we got a break in the rain so I can try to finish that piece up this weekend. This knife is a hoss, 8 1/2" blade, 1 3/4" wide, 1/4" thick with a 5 1/2" handle of green/black micarta. This is what the customer wanted so I accomadated him. :D I have a couple of other blades to grind. It's warm here but in the thirties by tomorrow.

It's 40 degrees out this mornin! For those of you who don't know, thats actually not cold at this time of year- usually it freezes, but still, this is texas, and so, anything below 80 is near freezing. got school today and that's all.

15 BELOW ZERO,30 BELOW WIND CHILL. I'm not far from Pete Allen in MN. I'll be inside all weekend hoping the septic doesn't freeze up.

We've been getting flooded every day pretty much. Soon as the water goes down it starts to rain again. The water is pretty much gone now, but the temperature has dropped from the 60's yesterday to around 40 right now. Supposed to be around 15 tommorrow :grumpy:

I'm takin some knives to the post office this morning and then going in to campus to try and sell some of my books back. Have about 20 that are barely used (one still in the wrapper :D ), but I bet I'll be lucky to get more than $100 for all of them
After that its knives all weekend :D

Day 14 today without a cigaret; so far, so good. It's still hard to concentrate and focus, but it's getting better daily. Not having any obligations and being isolated here at home has helped a lot. I'll be happy when I feel like working again. Jeff, I found those 4 pounds you lost! :(

We started the week with a foot of snow on the ground. Two days ago it was 55* here. We had a 6 hour winter thunderstorm and an inch or so of rain Wednesday night. Yesterday it was 32* and snowed about an inch. This morning it's O* and it's a mess with ice everywhere from frozen slush. Strange week of weather.

Hope everyone has a real nice weekend! :)

Good point, Brian, and reminded me of something:

I've gotten a lot of support for this from a number of people on the forum. You know who you are. I just want to tell you all that it has helped immensely.

You have my sincere gratitude. Thank you all! :)

Yeah it was almost 80 earlier this week. I remember several years ago about this time it was at 90  Ahhhh, that's the stuff...

I'm goin huntin for the last of the season today. I doubt I'll see anything, but if I do, my .264 will be through it before it knows what hit em. :D

Congrats on laying them down Fitzo -- you are now a non-smoker. :)

It is hard for me to stay in the shop when the weather is this nice. Makes me want to go fishing. :D

The largest bass is around 5 pounds and the channel cat is about 7. Caught the cat on the same little spinner I caught the bass on. An H & H, willow leaf, white with white skirt.

Mike, you better grab your hat and come on. I can not hold off cooking these much longer.

In a way I envy some of you guys. The nice weather and all. No the weather here isn't bad but the wind blowing across my forge area at 18 to 40 degrees most of the winter is irritating and cold. but in the summer it is nice. It almost never gets over 95 degrees.
Ill still be out there hammering though. At least the grinder and all the other stuff is inside.
