So, I recived my Master Hunter from warriors and wonders today, and it took a hole two days get here!;):D

I was surprised to find it was a bit bigger than I though it would be, which is a good thing, the blade was wider,thicker and longer than I invisioned it;
all pluses for me. The fit and finish was also better than I thought it would be, im not sure on the handle yet as I haven't done any testing, but we'll find out this weekend. The sheath isnt bad, the knife fits in good, no rattling. Also, a feature I like is that you can adjust the ride hight, this is good because I like my knives high and tight, which this deliver's. It has a good positive handle, the blade is sharp as the dickin's, removes hair like crazy.

All in all, It's 1 of my two favorite belt knives (Sog Revolver-H is the other :D) Now for some pics (how could I not :D)

Best picture I've taken in a while.

One for comparison.

And a shot of thickness's (sorry for this bad one, its harder to hold the knives and take pictures than you would think)

Looks rearing to go. Looking forward to your review. Have a safe trip and Happy Birthday!:D

Congrats. I always found the MH to be a great knife. I wish I would have kept my carbon V version, don't let yours go! :D.

Nice knife Fonly and a great first pic ! You struck lucky mate getting one in Carbon V !!!
Enjoy your trip to the river and take plenty of pics !!!

I think that blade design is just what a utility knife should be-- flat, broad, straight spine-- strong, batonable, easy to sharpen.

Has anyone compared the Cold Steel Master Hunter to the Fallkniven F1 or others of similar design?

I got a Browning Mako Pro on Ebay a while back and it's another no frills sharp tool.

Enjoy your new toy-- don't poke holes in the boat with it :D

hey, I just did something to the Sheath, give me a few and Ill show ya'll :D

I wanted the sheath to be a little sleeker, and thinner, so I took the back belt loop plate of my harsey hunter, and put on the MH sheath. Fits extremely well, almost like it was made for it

I have the stainless. It's a VERY practical knife and I've used mine for many years .Blade and handle shape I think are ideal. I've completely dressed, butchered and skinned deer.Done the same with geese . ETC ,ETC !!!

In another thread, I was asking about this one since it seems similar enough to the F1 to invite comparison.

Just how big is it? I'd like about a 4" blade for my next fixed blade.

The blade is right at 4.5". I love this knife, for me this wins over the F1 becuase of the carbon blade, I prefer carbon steel now.

The CS in CV is a great knife. I'm a CS 'hater" for the most part, but tried the MH and it was very well put together. Normally I would just trash CS..... but I can't anymore.

Congrats....... CS make a good one with the MH in CV:thumbup:

Look how many time I abbreviated.........;)

Does anyone know which steel is tougher, Carbon V or the San Mei III? I'm thinking about picking one up but am torn between the 2 steels it comes in.

:D

I agree 100%, I will never buy another CS product, I hate them, but love the knife :D If thats allow to make sense. I know for me, the MH was the choice because it didn't have all that crap that other CS products had. It was sold, and marketed as a hard use hunting knife.

No I don't..... but I can tell you that I would wait for a carbon V. Many.... MANY here will attest to the same thing!

I agree. Usually the first thing I do with almost anything I get, is try to make it better somehow. Haven't yet figured out how to make my MH better, other than patina/cold blue the blade.

The CS San Mai III isn't worth the extra money .I think it has a poor choice of steels for the $.
