OHHH this is a very neat tool

Very cool. Reminds me a bit of the drop hammer at Kerry's place. I like his little hardie mounted scroll bender as well...

I get to use those very often so they don't much phase me anymore hehe. I liek the drop hammer, could easily build into it a tire hammer style clutch I imagine to lift the weight, paint program CAD drawing to come soon :D

That vise like scroll bender, and the auto eccentric roll bender impressed me the most.

I was completely sold until I saw the final shot. Why just put a plain square bar across the top of all those beautiful scrolls? The design went from amazing to boring in 10 seconds with that decision.

LA, if you look at it like this, imagine a beautiful painting framed in a plain nondescript frame :D or they are just working on the customer's budget :D

I LOVE that little drop hammer he has. Been thinking on these for a LONG time, and loving my friend Kerry's drop hammer:

So I thought if I can't find my own build one! I have a deal in the works with my boss for some 7 1/4 round, little more than 4' of it, cut a foot off for the drop weight, leave 3 feet for the anvil, some large diameter round for the uprights, tube in a tube guides, tire clutch blah blah blah you get the gist :D . Input, improvements, comments welcome.

Edit: the Mustard color is a strap, when you engage the clutch it winds up around the drive shaft, then when you disengage it uncoils and drops the ram.

Sam, I wonder if you could use a capstan with a rope for the lift?
Releasing the pressure on the rope would let the hammer drop.
