I find it odd that some folks don't like to cold weather camping. For me it's more comfortable, no sweating, no bugs, less people around when at public grounds. It's all about wearing the right layers and having a good sleep system. I use a 15 degree bag with thermarest pad and goretex bivy. I am toasty all night long. Sleep in my long johns and wool socks. Always wear a cap on my head to retain body heat. I sleep like a baby.
