I had some in-progress photos to take, so while I was in the groove, and on the computer, I thought I'd share them here.
This is one of only three knives I have had time to make for the Ohio Show.
A 324 layer "Wispy Twist" Fighter. I just got done with a little file work and some polishing prior to the hot-bluing process to follow this afternoon.
A stabilized and quite radical Mesquite Burl handle finishes out the take-down assembly.
If I get time, I'll post up the finished knife after the fittings and blade are hot-blued.
These are utterly un-edited photos.
See ya' in Ohio!

That's super nice as is Karl. Are you going to hot blue the fittings? 'Cause they look pretty sweet polished and bright...

Yes-they're mild steel. I can't leave them unfinished.
They'll still be polished, and will dance in the light.
Please note that they are SELECTIVELY polished and faceted.

Karl,

That's beautiful! You continue to impress!

Question: I have used a good bit of mesquite and due to the stable nature of it have never had any stabilized. Do you find much difference with it stabilized?

Gary, this piece being a burl, I really have no idea of what to compare it to.
I do have quite a few pieces of regular Mesquite as well and it seems to accept the process quite readily.
