Ohta slip joints?

Thank you Christian, very nice of you to say so:thumbsup:

Mr Ohta sent it to me on 27th of December 2013 and I received it before the change of that year! Still remember opening the package in the car and being unable to drive for some minutes;):D

I have had a couple of his slipjoints over the years, and both were top notch all around! For the money he makes some of the best custom knives IMO.

I don’t own one, but thanks for all the photos! I really can’t pick among them. Didn’t he do a locking whittler(1 blade of 2 or 3)? His tab flippers are very traditional in the correct handle materials. Don’t quite know where to draw the line on them, cf I suppose:rolleyes::D. The wood handled ones such as Jack Black Jack Black has are very reasonably priced. And it’s a maple handle Jack:). Sharp D2-what’s not to love?
Thanks, Neal

Thanks Neal, not much stays in my head for long these days! :D

If you like Stag then he's the one to go for....

F&F exceptional and uncompromising. He delivers WHEN he says he's going to, you can watch W.I.P. on your knife on his site (well you could when mine was made) Delivery by Japan Post is extremely fast. A gentleman knife-maker.

Thanks, Will

That is indeed some beautiful stag Will

I've never owned one but a Japanese specialty knife store has an few of them on display. The fit and finish from what I've seen is exceptional. Its was so perfect on the examples I saw there that it was almost unreal. Like it looks like they came into the universe complete, as in you can hardly tell they were assembled by a human, they are just immaculate.
