Oil for fixed-blade knives?

+1 on the Tuff Glide, if you're talking about using the knife. If you use mineral oil, olive oil, etc. the blade will be wet with the oil, which will come off very shortly after you start using it (in my experience), not to mention collect dust, dirt, pocket lint (in the case of folders), and so on. Tuff Glide will dry "shortly" after applying it and is considered a dry lubricant and corrosion inhibitor. As mentioned above, you need to be careful with Tuff Glide if you use your knife for food prep.

If you're talking about long-term storage (and not using the knife), I use mineral oil. Although I've found the oil tends to just bead up on the blade if there's any residual Tuff Glide on it (which means the Tuff Glide is still working).
