Oil longevity plz?

How long will my ammo can of #50 be good for? Any hidden variables that will effect this like clay in the oil or storage temps? I have run 35-40 blades through. This is a question I have never come across an answer to. Are there any indicators of it reaching the end of its life? Thanks in advance!

A long time with the amount of use that most of us give it. You can have a bunch of scale lying on the bottom of a pail of #50 and the oil will still be clear.
 
I have quenched a couple hundred with mine and its still fine
 
Ok thanks guys. Nothing to worry about for a long long time then I guess. Haha so I guess my children and children's children can enjoy the bottom of my 5 gal.
 
5 gallons of Parks #50 will last thousands of quenches and who knows how many years of life. If you keep it covered to keep moisture out, it may last longer than you do.
