Oil quech stains

I just received s PKS Scorpion 1095 steel and one side has several tan spots. The company rep said it was "intentional dirtying" but then later said it resulted from the oil quench.Should I be concerned or return?

If you aren't happy and it bothers you, return it.

1095 is going to take on a patina soon enough (if you use it), I wouldn't worry about it myself

If it’s just a stain, some flitz ought to polish it out or perhaps a scotchbright pad, depending on what works best with the finish of your knife.
