Ok do you use your Serial #ed Limited Edition Knives?

I use my ZT350cb, which is the only limited production knife I own. Of course, opening letters and packages doesn't put too much wear on a knife...

I've been carrying the Manix2 in XHP steel this week. Sliced up a load of cardboard the other day with it.
As far as the other "special" knives, I have not really used them. There is just something about this M2 that is perfect. Eventually I may get around to using some knives more than others, but I have plenty of users at the moment that I am just now starting to really break in and see how they can perform cutting wise.

I have a few limiteds, and use them. My Benchmade 730 CFHS has seen so much use that the coating is off the front 1/3 of the blade, and scratched all to heck. If it were NIB, I would have 3X the value of what I paid, so maybe I should have not used it. Oh, well. It sure was and continues to be one of my favorite go-to knives, and has been used in the yard, in the garage, and on construction. Yards and yards of cardboard, sheetrock, and even fiberglass insulation, tons of weeds and small branches, even some food prep.

I can't afford to just collect knives, at least in my mind.

The BenchMade guys said use them, their not special. They did say you might hang on to the preproduction blades though. Everyone agreed. the 1 thru 500 and limiteds ge used. The prepros goes in the safe.
I agree. It's not like they're going to be worth millions some day.

I carry 'em all, wouldn't buy 'em if I wasn't gonna use 'em, I do have 3 knives I bought to sell later but that's rare for me.

Maybe some pics are in order? Let's see some of these First Production / Limited Edition knives you guys are using. Here's a few that I won't:

I hate first production text and numbers on blades. I'm OK with serial numbers and maker logos/names, but the layout of first production numbers is just redundant and takes away from the appearance of the blade in most cases.

Ok I just got 2 Serial # Benchmade Mini-Griptilians. One is in S30V and the other in M390. I am torn about carrying either and using them? What do you guys do?

I doubt that M390 appreciates any in value. They're having trouble selling the first 200. Besides that M390 is user steel. Beat it up. I intend to beat the crap out of my M390 when it gets here on Sat.

My primary EDC says "Limited Edition 6 of 50" on the side of the blade. While I don't really care for writing on the blade I don't sit and stare at my EDC knives anymore. I do still flip them open and closed when bored but I don't read the blade. I haven't even looked at it in a few months until just now. If you like the knife use it as you will get much more use and enjoyment out of it than the little bit it may appreciate in value.

Yes and no,
If it is just a serial number I have no problem carrying it.
If it is a "1 of" or special edition or something like that, I no longer carry it.
I thought, hey..., I will buy 2 of each, 1 to use and 1 to keep, but winds up I save both.
Why do I not carry them any longer?
After I lost my EDC, a BM Mini Grip M2 Ritter,
1- it is just too much money to loose and
2- it is not easily replaced.
My "theory" at the time was, why not enjoy it, I have never lost a knife, so go ahead, use your M2 since you love it.
I say I lost it, but it was more like stolen and I "believe" I know who took it, he was the ONLY one there, but I can not "prove it".
I do have the box it came in, so if I EVER see him use it, I can prove it is my knife. I have questioned him several times about it, but nothing more than that.
So..., that is why I will use my knives, just not the LE's, etc.
My EDC is now a Mini-Grip D2 that I got a good deal on in a trade, but it is 1/2 serrated.
Of ALL the knives to "loose", why could it not have been a Frost knife or something???
