ok folks please help me identify these blades

The BIBBs? I think closer to $400+ as I recall. Check some of my old sale threads, I sold one or two and I always leave the prices they sell for in the threads.

So does this mean you still have one or two to sell me :D

I believe the SJTac is a "Muddy SJTac".

It should match up with the Muddy Mojo, Muddy SFNO, Muddy Force 1.

there were two ripper variations, the st ripper which was a recurved modification of an ergo handled steel heart... I think... maybe it was a natural outlaw..

and the regular ripper wich was a recurved modification of the eu17 middle sized blade (as apposed to the mini and the magnum).

but then, I've been letting a lot of blade terminologies slip by without really trying to comprehend them lately.... I didn't even know the fogo steak knives were called fogo steak knives until today...

ok....so we all agree that i have the RIPPER not the ST-RIPPER right???????

That's right, the Muddy SJTAC, Muddy SFNO, and Muddy Ratweiler were from the Blade West LeftoverGanzaa last year. You can see them on the Busse Collector site.

I'm trying to look for verification of the names, and I'm coming up with the same comfusion that I had before. I never quite understood what the difference was between the clip point and the drop point versions. I'll have links in a little bit to verify what model names were attached to what blades though.

at least for now that will verify that the blade you have is either a ripper or st ripper. "st" stands for super thin, the 3/16 model instead of the 1/4 model. so if yours is 3/16, its a "st ripper"

theres jerry's verification that the eu17 handled blade is definitely called the ripper or st ripper depending on its thickness.

now I just need to find verification of what the hell the drop point style blades were.

edit to add:
"RIPPER = $297.00
ST RIPPER = $267.00!!! (sheath not included)" - from skunk

OOH, I'll take that BIBB off your hands, I have 1 but would sure like another.
One of my favorite Busse blades..:thumbup:

OKAY... so.. I think I understand it now.

rippers were 1/4, and they were (most likely) literally modified versions of the eu17 blades which had the clip point already in the design.

st rippers were 3/16", and were modified versions of the zero tolerence ergo handled natural outlaws. these had the characteristic ergo drop point, as well as the characterisitc zero tolerence deep swedge at the tip. the handle was modified into the eu17 style handle.

pics of the st-ripper.

The second one sure looks like the SJTAC variant from last year's BLADE West Left Overganzaaaaaa!!!!!! Or at least it looks like mine, which has a somewhat shorter back swedge than what's pictured here:

# 3 Satin Jack Variant. (Pic below)

# 3 = Satin Jack Custom Variant with tiger hide handles = $397.00

No pic any more & photobuckets being pissy, must be some polymer issue.

I'm a sucker for EU handles the SJTac is my least favorite.

So, sell me that STripper for cost.

I even have a hot linked VTW banner ad in my sig, it's payback time.

its this one that i think is the most valuable out of all of these.....am i right?

That's a tough call. Not sure where the market is right now -- both it and the BIBB ought to go for mid 400's.

BTW, now is probably not the best time to sell. There's a lot of INFI out there. I'd hold onto it for a better time.
