OK Guys.....I don't know what I got my hands onto....looks to be a Kingdom Armory.

Maybe there is a lawyer on the forum? It's a good question.

From a layman's point of view, it's unethical, at best, to not represent it as "A Widget International modification of a Busse Combat Knife" But then, maybe it was when it was sold to the original owner.

That aside, i thought that Jerry had a trademark on the talon hole. That may be the bigger issue.

Lawyers? Lawyers? Lawyers?

Oh, if you want to see if it's really a Busse, you could always test the INFI... as in NOSS testing ;)

Ok, I didn't know one company was allowed to erase anothers markings and just throw their logo on it the other guys knife.....seemed strange to me.

Gonna throw this out there. I'd rather have a Franken-Busse than a mint condition almost anything else.

If it's INFI, and you plan to make it a user, it should be excellent. Of course, resale value is minimal, but it's certainly going to be as tough as anything money can buy.

It does seem strange to me - and I don't know the answer, except to say that I don't think it is gentlemanly to scrub the original makers name off of a knife, then make simple (taste notwithstanding) changes and mark it with the modifiers mark; I have just not seen that done before.

However - if you are ok with the price you paid, then you have a great knife that will provide years of service.

Thanks for the pictures and congrats on the new knife!

perhaps. I emailed KA with pictures of your knife and asked for a more detailed explanation. I find it difficult to imagine that a company as reputable as KA would intentionally do something like that.

It's pretty shady stuff.

I believe it's safe to say that your knife started life as a Busse Ash I... how it became what it is now, and why it carries a KA mark is pure supposition.

Yea....I just contacted KA....we'll see if this was a custom or what.

I really REALLY hope it's not a custom. If KA made a custom with a talon hole, it's going to cause a lot more trouble than if they just reground one and stamped it.

indeed. The talon hole is the exclusive intellectual property of Busse combat. Jerry seems to let it pass on the occasional one off if a person makes it for themself, but a company producing blades with a talon hole is quite a different story.

KA would be in a world of hurt if they have decided to make knives like the one you posted.

Yea....then it's pretty much set as being a Busse (once).

KA ignored my email. No reply. I'm going to call them today to ask them why they ignored my email

Every time I see this thread pop up in the feed I think it says "Klingon Armory." :p
