I've been thinking about this. Okay, it convinced a cat and two dogs ... but what about a ferret? Why are the ferret owners so mysteriously silent?

And why is there only one report from a cat so far? Could there be some selection of data going on -- could some cats be sleeping through it in members' laps, and the members aren't reporting it because it never occurs to them a cat that doesn't wake up could be news?

Do any of us have animals other than cats, dogs, and ferrets to test it on? How about parrots? Guinea pigs? We need more data even if it's just confirming the cat and dog tests.

Have you tried it on your monitor kitty, James? Some might fear a possible conflict of interest because your monitor kitty is associated with you and you are associated with Mike Turber, but we of the WB&C have confidence in the monitor kitty's integrity and we want the data she can provide.

If one of our members happens to own a turkey farm that would be a tremendous stroke of luck!

We are determined to get to the bottom of this. We are making arrangements to set up speakers in low-flying UFO zones to test the call on them. Is that a turkey call or is that a flying saucer call?

Well, you finally did it, Mike. I am glad that you shared your turkey call imitation with the forum. However, either my memory is rusty, or your turkey-calling abilities have decreased since your surgery.

If any of you wonder what the real story is behind this, it has to do with some people in certain professions being rather stuffy or humorless. Physicians, of which I am one, are notorious for this sort of behavior. I assure you that I was NOT devoid of humor, and some of my gags still live on.

So, I phoned Mike a few years or so ago, and I was wondering just how stuffy he was, being a successful entrepreneur and all, so I asked the person who had answered the phone at WOW to connect me with 'that turkey, Mike Turber.' Mike answered me with his now justly famous turkey call imitation, and I knew I had found a kindred spirit. I have been after him to send me a .wav file of his call for some time, and am happy he has finally complied.

Now, if we could just get him into a REAL sports car instead of that Corvette. heh heh heh

Just tried the turkey call on my cat, got him to wake up from the other room. He ran in drooling and whining - looks kinda hungry. Maybe that's just because I hid the kibbles earlier this evening since he has a date tomorrow to get tutored. I mean neutered. (By a professional, Dad!)

BTW - my calico could care less, she slept right through it. Is it because she's not as hungry, or Mike's Turkey doesn't do it for the female gender?
