I got a request from HornyToad for a "special Kephart." He wanted a 1" by 5 1/2" blade of 5/32" O1. No problem, I`ll order 1" stock. Then he says he wants a 3/16" guard on it, no problem, I`ll order 1 1/4" stock. Oops, all they carry is 1" or 1 1/2", so I get 1 1/2" and grind 1/2" off, I don`t have a bandsaw! Well, here is the finished knife, it`s his design, if you like it I`ll take all of the credit ;), if you think it`s unusual, it was all his idea! :D

I like it John. Whats that white stuff on the ground?

Snow!!! (but I think you knew that :D) It`s 4 degrees here this morning, and I have to keep coming in from the shop to thaw my hands out! I`ts pretty bad when my water dip tank is frozen solid!

That's a lot of steel just ground into powder! Must've taken you a loooooooong time even with coarse wheel or belt.

Cool-lookin' blade. I love how you take the same blade shape and successfully scale it up or down to meet someone's needs or dreams. Great work!

It almost looks like a bayonet at that length.

And yet again, you deliver what a customer wants. Great work! Nice looking knife!!

Looks really good John! From the comments it looks like you get the credit for it.

I thought you were keeping that bayonet feature a secret by hiding the threaded lug on the other side of the handle. ;)

The more I handle it, the more it reminds me of a combination Kephart / Bushcrafter, with that lean blade. Everytime I come in from the shop to warm up (it`s 8 degrees here now) I`ve been handling it, and it feels pretty good!
