One BAS - day to day user (if I used a Khukuri day to day of course) and first one. Called "Bas" for short.
2nd BAS - gift to old boss who was an ex-Marine Vietnam Vet (he loved it!). no. 2
One Kothimoda - Got to see what the Royal Kami does, and something to show off in the house. Been in love with Bura's work ever since. Destined for use with formal wear and to open champagne bottles (Russian calvary style). No name. But definately a mistress. no. 3
One Bura old style Tarwar - Got after after seeing in Sarge's pics. Destined for use as a heavy duty machete (and maybe for pig hunting w/ dogs). Modified a Terry Sisco made baldric to carry on my back Conan the Barbarian style (it a macho thing) - will post pics in forum someday when I get my digital camera act together. Last Bura made pre-stroke old style Tarwar. Got sent to France by mistake during Uncle Bill's move to Titanic II. For a while thought it was dropped by the roadside to be discovered by passerby (like how Joan of Arc found a sword in a field then saw her mission). Henceforth, Tarwar called "St. Joan of Arc". no. 4
One BG New Hanuman - "The Monkey". Needed a chopper for camp fires. I could use the tools since my "Swiss Army Knife" doesn't have the tools of the normal Swiss Army Knife. It's super thick handle suits my bear paw hands just fine. Rig is bulky but sits very well strapped to my boot (I've got long shins). no. 5
Two 6 inch "neck khuks" - one aluminum handles, the other horn handled. Given by a helluva great and well respected guy. 2 1/2 inch handles, 3 1/2 inch blades. Worn daily around my neck for "birds and trout" (if/when I next get a bird/trout). Predictably, Al one named "trout", horn named "bird" no. 6 & 7.
The one that got away - Bura's Kothimoda Dankhutas offered as one time special edition Christmas presents on the forum. Ah well, handle would have been too small for my mits, anyway (otherwise known as sour grapes consolation).
Now all Xmas and birthday presents have been used up 'til end 2005. Luckily there's still 2006!
Under current careful consideration - a 21-22 inch Gelbu Special if the Tarwar proves to be too heavy and slow on springy jungle bush.
I vowed to stop at eight. But I also thought I was just getting a BAS, too, when I started.
