Ok: How Many Suspects Think I'm Nuts: CQC8 As My EDC... ;)

I just received the beautiful double ground 2001 8 today from fellow suspect Recluse. It's ALL THAT & a PACK OF FRANKS!!! Heh. Still minty fresh & I have been carrying it for the last 8 hours or so. Now, what do you guys think? Carry it or drop it in the safe? Damn the ergos on this piece feel HEAVENLY! :cool:
 
That's a deeply personal call.
I have never carried any of my Emerson customs while others carry an Emerson custom on a daily basis. Still others fall somewhere in between, carrying their custom once in a while. So waht should you do???:p
 
All I can say is that you either need to buy another one to keep in the safe, or send it to me! I'll carry it for you! No guilt on your part. I'll even use it!

Now stop worrying about sanity and carry the Emerson. Just make sure you carry a glock to make sure that anyone who attempts to make off with the knife gets dead...

I am in a bit of personal indecision, this is true. I like to carry my customs & USE them to save my a$$ if the need arose. I mean the 8 would be strictly for defensive purposes, I use a production piece for day to day cutting chores. Guess I will have to mull it over... & while I do the 8 can stay clipped in my right front pocket... :D

I was lucky enough to get an 8 and a 6 on order before Mr. Emerson stopped taking orders, even thought my order # is in the 1500's, When I eventually get them, I'll keep them and carry them. I've thought about selling one to fund both, but doubt that I will be able to give one up for the other (even thought it would mean a free knife, a free Emerson custom on top of that), so I will carry and (maybe) use both of them. :D

I know how you feel. The knives BEG to be carried. ;)

I have both left/right handed ES1-M's on order & my invoice # is in the 1600's. They will both be carried. It will be a GREAT day when they are finally in my paws... :D
 
i strongly agree with Memnoch. In fact that is the very strategy i employ on a daily basis.
 
Its all in the signature. I don't necessarily recomend cutting metal packing strips with it, but what is a knife that isnt used as a knife? An expensive dust collector. Enjoy what it was designed for.

It is up to you, but my opinion is that envelopes don't count as use,

when i get mt hands on an 8 i'll carry it. but it'll be a sad day if it gets used and i have to "acidently" drop it over the side of the ferry on the way to san francisco. really hard to find the evidence there :rolleyes:

Attila, carry it. Everyday it's my Terzuola in my front pocket for all the utility things a knife does, and behind my right hip, the Viper1(at least until my 6 gets back from Dr.Ernie) for self defense.
It was born to be used.

Thank you for all of your thoughts. I love being a member of the suspects, ALL of you are AWESOME! The 8 has become a part of my EDC rotation. I KNOW she will serve me well...;)
 
USE IT.....enjoy what is truly an exceptional knife...then when it needs sharpening send it to Ernie with $25 and it will come back to you looking brand new...

Let's see...I have a new CQC8 and I am debating whether or not to carry it every day...Hmmm, I won't do it! I am sure if I tried I would wake up and then that very pleasant dream (OK fantasy) would be over:D

You are a lucky guy and I am so envious. One of these days I will get one but that day appears to be far, far away right now.Carry, use and enjoy it.

I'm just hoping Ernie brings some to Hotlanta, and my name gets called before they're all gone! :D And, you bet your ASS I'll carry it, if the knife Gods smile on me and I manage to get one!

Like Reed said - you didn't just pay all that hard earned cash to let it collect dust, did ya? Ernie made it to be used!
 
In a few days I will have a used CQC8 in my hands and yes I will be carrying/using it. I would have hesitated using a mint specimen, but since its already used, it makes it that much easier :D Can't wait! Maybe I'll carve the turkey with it :D

I dont' own a knife even close to the CQC 8 which is in my opinion in a class of it's own, but I know if I had one I'd use it!

As many of you know, the 8 is my favorite Emerson folder. I carried one every single day in my front waistband for a few years. Carry it, especially if it is your only one. I am just hoping for a production waved one some day, and my whole world will be delicious.
