That is sexy, I may have to step up the coating removal plans on mine if it looks that nice without too much extra work.

its taken me stripping three or four busse knives to get it down..... doesnt take that long....

peel away 7 took the coating off very easily

Another question... did you tape up the scales, or does the peel away 7 not affect them?

I just stripped a Randall RD-9 today. Then, I got a wild hair and ordered some Oxpho Blue cold blue from Brownell's. I'm going to try cold bluing the carbon steel and see how it looks.

Wonder if INFI would take a cold bluing?

Up until tonight going over these posts I had been convinced of a very simple explanation for the dimples. They look to me like a treatment done to the surfaces of the knife in order to compliment the crinkle coat, possibly to increase the "grip" of the coating as well as the crinkle effect of the coating. As stated somewhere on the web, the coating is top of the line as far as wear resistance is concerned, why not pretreat the surface in order to make it more effective.

That of course was my theory up until I got a migrane reading the posts on a couple of threads.

I recently stripped the paint off an Extravaganza EU Mr Mojo. I was surprised to see pits all over the blade. They weren't there on the other knives I've stripped and they were much smaller than the "standard" infi pits at the ricasso. My guess was that they were somehow the result of the heat treatment & didn't get cleaned up because a rougher finish does help the paint stick.

VTW - would you modify mine?? I was thinking of a Flying FBM!!! That would be very cool!!

Come on - you could do it!! Pleeeeeeeezzzzeeee!!!
