Who actually carries this knife..Dam its so big I imagine a LEO would frown on this in my pocket at the local library...Hmmm. ...any one carry this knife as a EDC or is it just a collectors toy??

That thing really is huge. For a while I carried mine in my back pocket but on a lot of my jeans it wouldn't even fit 'cos the handle is too long.

Nice blade but its huge!

I lusted after this knife.
Got it.
Realized it is just bigger than I want to carry.
Thinking of converting it into a kitchen knife.

Sure, I've carried mine every day for more than a year now. It's thinner than a lot of my shorter knives.

And I'm trying to picture a set of jeans with pockets too short for the Maxx... I'm only 5'8" and there's been plenty of clearance in all the pants I own.

Do it. It is my kitchen knife. I have a few others but the Maxx is the one I reach for most often.

It is sharp and it stays sharp. I routinely push-cut through breads and soft vegetables. The thin flat-ground blade slices through anything with no drag. The clip gives me a good point for tight spots and the broad belly and body of the blade are good for carving. It is well-balanced and not really heavy anyway for so long a blade. It cleans up easily, rinsing off nicely through the open back or rubbing down with a little liquid soap first if I cut something greasier.

I also use mine in the kitchen, but it's also on me when I go out for a hike, it's kind of fun to know you have a Bowie knife in your pocket, kind of like Davy Crockett, but without anyone having to see it.

I think the problem with handle length and pocket depth is more of an issue when sitting, not standing.

When standing, I could carry a cell phone and an EDC in my front right pocket and never have a problem.

When sitting, especially when driving, even my Strider AR has the handle pressing into my thigh. It's not 'digging in,' but if it was any longer, I'd be squirming around.

For longer knives, a rear pocket might be a better bet, and my best friend carries his EDC there. I also clip a knife to the inside pocket of my jean jacket. That COULD be interpretted as concealed in some areas.

Considering Darrel Ralph's work, I'd try to find some way to carry the thing. They are well made knives.
