OK here it is.....My Bear MGC...how does its quality compare to the Jaguar Balisong? Thanks for all of your help!

From what I gather, the handles on the Bear WILL break, just as the pivot pins on a Jaguar will also break. Given that pivot pins are easier to replace (see Clay's site) than handles, Jaguars is a better bet if you want a bali.

My words right there bzzzt. I said that the bear handels break which are ireplaceable and the jag pins you can replace.

Actually Chinese Man you can have custom knife makers manufacture new handles. Chuck Griffin does it. Although his MIA acording to others.;)

I haven't found anyone who can fix broken handles. So pretty much I would go with the Jag, and fix the pins really soon. :)

Miyagisan say question cheap... buy bad balisong waste money.
wax on ....wax off...must kick higher Chungsan;)

I've had both and although I liked the light wieght of the Bear it was a real POS and there customer service was even worse. I'll bet if you do a search you'll see me complaining about them on numerous occasions. And as everyone has said it is easy to replace the pins on a Jag. Speakig of that I have to go do that to the Jag my wife broke yesterday.

Ya know i've been wondering about this lately, maybe somebody can answer it.
I know that bear's handles have a tendency to break at the top hole, but does this happen of both the 3" and the 4" models?
Cause I have the 3" bear and it seems to be working great, and i've been beating on this like you wouldn't believe, plus it went through two other people before I got it.
I was just wondering if the people who have had their bear's break on them, owned the 4" model.
I would imagine that the 4",since it's a bit longer,would have more of a stress point.Just wondering.

Balut:Just a little correction on your signature. The correct John Lennon quote is:
"Life is what happens to you while your busy making other plans"
From the great song "Beautiful Boy" on the Double Fantasy album.

ChungSan....even the best can get better...even you so if there was something wrong with asking questions...then this forum would be much smaller.
