OK I have this overwhelming urge to give away an RD9

  Thats a very nice gesture mate. Good on you and I am sure the fellas getting the knives will be very happy. Good one.

That's super generous of you, and congrats to the folks that got something nice. It's people doing things like this that makes this forum great.

This forum IS great. These knives will have a very good home here, and I will take the best of care of them.

Again, I cant thank you enough. :D

I'm glad my little lad didn't get it I think his puny arms would have snapped lifting the thing !!!!!!!

J Curd, let me know what your uses may include, it might goto you.

Well, I guess Im rather mundane. I like to camp and I tend to use the heck out of my knives when at all possible, as I refuse to carry a hatchet if I can avoid it. I dont hunt, or skin animals (have too many animals at my house to rationalize killing any wild ones). I do like to hike and be outdoors, and spend many an evening sharpening the knives I own. To me a knife is attractive in function, not form, so most of mine are well used and not so pretty. Id rather have your worn tried and true knife than a new one, but thats just me...I like beaters.

If someone needs it more than me, feel free to send it their way. I will save and buy a Ranger when I am able. I really like what I have seen and heard, and they are alot cheaper than the Busse that is way out of reach (both availablity and financially).

Edit:

Congrats gents! I hope you use them well!

Mark has always been a great guy to know and deal with, this kindness and generosity only touches what he's really about! .....Just a terrific guy to know and have as a friend:thumbup:

I missed the generosity?

Damn...i'm going elk hunting for the first time in a couple weeks...i'd imagine a knife like that would have come in handy

Elk hunting isn't cheap and unless you have elk walking through your back yard I'm pretty sure you can afford a knife.

I'm young and have a rare blood disease and I am not able to work and I'm not asking for anything.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, guess I'm in a grumpy mood. It just seems like everyone is looking for a handout when he expressed he wanted it to go to someone that could not afford it.

It's a little too big for a skinner, even on an animal the size of an elk.
Were you planning to sneak up behind them and chop their legs off?? ;)

MB,
Hell of a nice gesture. I hope the recipient appreciates it, and I hope your karma brings something nice your way!

Hey if someone's handing stuff out it doesn't hurt to ask. I'm aware it isn't cheap either as this is my first time going and pretty much everything i'll be using will be borrowed. I'm putting a wife through nursing school currently and until she'd done with school and pulling in the good money i'm rather strapped for cash.

Hey you never know :) .......instead mounting the antlers i could have 4 elk ankles up on the mantle :p

MBW, I knew you were a great guy from the time you sold me a knife, but i'm just really moved by your generosity. There are a lot of broke-ass people out there who need (or love/want/etc) knives, for whom something like a Ranger would be out of reach. I feel humbled, like i really have to reexamine my own actions... and i probably have some knives i could live without...

Man, something like that would certainly come in handy.....a storm recently took down ALOT of large tree branches in my backyard, and I have no way of chopping them up, to make ridding of them easier. Not to mention winter will be here extremely soon, and it somehow needs to be done before that.

I think it's very nice of you to donate something to people in need, i'm sure whoever you give it to will be very thankful.
