I have no problem with my BK2 sheath. Yea its not the best sheath but it's a 60 knife and if you want a nice sheath out of box then get an ESEE 5 for more than double the price or just buy a custom kydex one for 35 bucks and stop complaining.

Real outdoorsmen know the knife is only a tiny part of the equation. A damn nice sheath is the thing. Which is exactly the reason only four Becker knives were sold last year.

Only four!?!

How will they survive as a company!?!

Real men don't need sheaths. You wield it like a man, and in the off chance you don't want to anymore, you drive it into something to hold it for you. Like a tree, rock, or the heart of an enemy. Sheeesh. Sheaths are for pansies. Man up already your making yourself look ridiculous.

Again?

Would you rather have the Busse stock sheath? Seriously. Research is a good thing.

Welcome to the Becker subforum. Hang around a little bit and perhaps it will all start to make sense to you. Cheers!

You could spend $75-$100 more and get an ESEE with a kydex setup or you could spend $40-$60 and get one custom made you your own needs. The knife alone is worth the price and the sheath is just something that's functional, but not adding any value (or much cost at all) to the product. Honestly, I took the liner out of my 7 sheath and tightened it up and it works enough that I can't complain about it. It's not going to get the rave reviews my custom kydex gets, but if I was just tossing it in the truck or something, it's plenty good to protect the edge and everything around it.

REAL men only carry sheaths. They don't need knives. Just the hint of having a knife in a kick ass sheath is enough for them. You know that.

Damn bleach sniffer....

I must be doing something wrong. I keep beating the hell out of mine and they just laugh at me and won't break. I even tried the 'it just fell of the counter onto the kitchen floor and broke' method. Going to have to get a professional in here to show me how to break one I guess.

If your sheath sucks I have a couple extra busse ones lying around you can have. Just don't get them wet.

Look fellers, clearly we have a black ops ninja on our hands here. If he says it broke then it broke.

From another thread.......

I was just in Algeria

Avoid the Trans-Saharan gas pipeline because we have had alot of rebel activity around those areas lately.

I personally don't go to that hell hole with nothing less then the Algerian Airforce helicopters watching my back.

Why in the heck are you going there? Why is it "something you have to do"?

That is like saying I have to rub beef gravy on my junk and kick a rabid pitbull.

I usually highly advise against westerners going anywhere near Africa or the Middle east mainly because westerners often get themselves into bad situations because they think they are untouchable on a subconscience level.

Come to Dubai instead....... Ill give you the 5 cent tour.

Gecko45 on the BFC. Love it :D

I have just the opposite opinion on the knife / sheath debate.

I love the Becker sheaths but the knifes blow. The first day I had my Eskabar I was wittling some wood and the damn blade chipped.... and not a little oh I can buff that out. A 1/2 section of the blade snapped off like it was made of glass.

I contacted Becker and they said it was my fault.... that I was mistreating the knife or that I somehow removed the tempering of the blade by heating it up.

The only thing I own by Becker that hasn't broken is the sheath.... but that could be due to the fact that the knife didn't last long enough to out live the sheath.

Bull. Prove it.

As to the OP - seriously, how many times do we need this same thread? Draw your knife properly (spine pressed into the sheath rather than edge) and you won't dull your knife. Draw it improperly and any sheath will dull it.

Edit: I stand corrected. You can draw your knife incorrectly from the stock Busse sheath without worrying about dulling the blade. My mistake.
