Every time I get a knife, I say thats it. Last one.
Then I somehow end up going to the exchange or the auction site or a few other places and then I see it...... A great deal.
Haha.
I really don't need anymore knives. Seriously. I have enough. What makes us knife nuts want more knives?
Really? Whats your reasons? I mean I am buying seconds and sometimes thirds of the same knife. I have the whole Becker line except the BK3, BK1, and the RBK.
This really is an addiction that I need to get control of. haha
But for real, I only buy seconds of something if it is cheap. And believe me, if you look keep an eye out you can find a lot of Becker models new in the box shipped for $50. And used is a whole other story.
I just need to say no to the deals.
If I like a knife and use it a lot, I tend to get a second one just in case my main one is lost, stolen, breaks, or so I can feel better about modding it, and sometimes so I can give to a family member.
I don't go out to eat anymore cause thats money I could have put towards a new knife. And a new knife lasts way longer than a dinner. Id rather rather just eat free deer meat from my kills.
Can't see spending money for a night at the movies, that could have been a new Becker necker. haha.
And new clothes? Who needs them? Ripped shorts and holes in T-shirts are fine with me, Id rather have a set of Micarta for one of my babies. haha
I am serious, I am gonna try and go 2 or 3 months with no new knife purchases. We shall see how it goes.
I am very curious as to how many of you have the same or similar problems?
And to be honest, this forum is the worst thing for knife addicts. This forum makes people buy more knives. We all check out each others new knives and see the awesome mods people do and it just gets us all fired up and wanting to try it out for ourselves.
We need a support group.
I wouldn't have known about almost any of the knife mods and must have Becker models if it wasn't for you guys.
I wouldn't have wanted to get them all if it wasn't for all of your pictures and ramblings about how this blade can do that and that blade can do this!
I thought there was something seriously wrong with me for wanting more than one new knife every year. Until I met all of you that is.
You guys have enabled me. Lol
And I thank each and everyone of you!
My life would not be the same today without all the knowledge I have gained from this Becker sub forum. However I would have a lot more cash in my pocket.
So I really just wanted to post some pictures of my new knife that arrived today, and It was then that I realized how bad this addiction is.
Here is my new baby that arrived today. Now I think I might attempt a de-ramping of my old BK12, number 186. Oh my how I love this blade.
So should I de-ramp? I am so worried that I might not like it? And maybe a large choil? Who knows.
Well I didn't intend to rant about this and that but I just got to thinking how addictive these blades are.
So I am going to focus on the knives I have and not buy anymore for a while.
And how do you guys deal with it? Honest? And do you let your wives or girlfriends know how many knives you buy or have? I know I don't! haha I'm so glad that the handles all look the same and blades are similar. I think my wife thinks I have just a couple. The trick is to only bring out 1 or 2 at a time. haha
So please guys, Don't post any more pictures of your new blades or show your awesome mods anymore, because I may just crack and have to order a knife or some new g10 black and blue scales. (man those things are sick looking)
I know I'm not the only person in this boat, so please respect our feelings and don't make us addicts want any more steel. HAHA
Thanks and Enjoy.
