  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

OK I'll admit it....

I agree with aesthetics going to the 710 And The Axis lock is solid. But The g10 on the mili is MUCH better! 710 is too plasicy I like how the 710 doesn't take up too much pocket, but the mili is much lighter. Also, The flat grind seems to get a lot sharper than the saber grind. I can prep food with the mili because of its giant handle. Food prep with the 710 is a chore....

I won't disagree that the G10 on the milli is "better" but I really like the G10 on my 710, it looks worn, like Micarta looks, not "plasticky" at all, plus I like the little bit of detail they put in it instead of just solid slabs.

The Millie is my GOAT EDC production knife. I EDC one in my right back pocket since 2008.

I own four Millies now. The C/F M390 is my favorite.

And I also find a good old Walker Liner Lock more comfortable to handle and more fun to play with than a compression lock. To be honest, I wished they made the compression lock the other way around. That you'd disengage it with your thumb, instead of your index finger...

Imagine this... What If Benchmade and Spyderco put away their differences and Collaborated on a knife that combined the elements of the 710 and the Mili... Flat grind, lots of belly, slight recurve on the blade... Axis lock... Titanium liners... Proper G 10... spyderco hole for opening...Mili style handle... Jimping on choil and spine near thumb...

Not likely, it would be like Chevy and Ford creating a new vehicle. The closest thing you can hope for is the AFCK.

I've been pecking at away on a comparison of these two since I got a 710 a bit ago. Just had a marathon session the the kitchen working on chicken and sausage gumbo actually and they are both great with food prep.

They are both great knives, I'm enjoying the heck out of both, feel lucky to have such great knives, think both designs are awesome and am sometimes up in the air on which I prefer. Nod might be going to the military, then I use the 710 and am impressed as hell with it too. I think every knife collector needs one of each.

I would like the 710 because it is trimmer than the Military, but I won't buy one because of its recurve. (I don't like tip-up either but I overlook that if I like everything else about the knife.)

The only thing I don't like about the Military is that the handle might be a bit long for me for EDC, the Para2 is a better size for me. I have no problem operating the comp lock and never worry about dropping it. I have nicked my thumb on occasion with a liner lock, especially with a wide blade such as the Tenacious. The edge gets to your thumb quicker than with other liner lock knives that I have, so the comp lock might actually be safer for me. (I do have to resist playing with my knives when I am sitting around the house with no shoes on.)
