OK, now I need (erm...want) a < 2.5" EDC folder

Never had a problem in boston. I go in all the time carrying whatever i want. Ill usually leave my fixed blade in the car but other than that its all good. The cops don't know the actual length limit. Some will say 3 some 2.5. Most will just say the length of your palm so as long as ur not 12 years old or have the smallest hands on the planet ul be fine with a delica or something. Its just over the limit but looks close enough for them not to care. Bear in mind I'm not a lawyer so don't listen to me for legal advice. this is just my take on common sense or lack there of

Yes here in the Soviet Socialist State of Illinois we can conceal carry guns but we have to keep our blades under 2.5". Makes a hell of a lot of sense.

Not all of Illinois has a 2.5" limit, only Crook County and possibly surrounding areas.

Everywhere else in the state, there isnt really any limit. Anything over 3" can warrant additional charges if you have it on you while committing a crime. So unless you are planning on going out and causing trouble, youre fine carrying whatever you want outside of Chicago. Thats my understanding of the Illinois knife laws at least.

If I was forced to carry a 2.5" blade, it would probably be the Boker Albatros or Spyderco Dragonfly.

Actually it's just the city of Chicago, the rest of cook county has no limit.

No one mentioned the spyderco Techno? Has to be the best 2.5" blade folder ever, lol!

Specs have it at 2.55" blade length so you would have to sharpen it a couple of times to get to 2.49" I guess...

I would highly suggest the Spyderco Dragonfly I bought it so that I could carry a one handed opener with me when I go to Akron or Cleveland. It's a very small knife, but you can get all four fingers around it and it's so light you forget about it until yoh need it(I once slept with it clipped to my right pocket and never even felt it during the night).
