Ok, ok, now I can see the hype about the Spanto Blade

The blades coming from the Ranch are plenty sharp and profiled for real world use. Avoid the call to reprofile less than 22-24*
spanto higher side, slicer and wharnie lower.

And as for the connotation associated with the word "hype"..... the RHK Spanto is an original iconic design that speaks for itself. Sharp. Strong and purposeful in its existence. No hype, just real.

Understood. I always try and caution those who are possibly new to sharpening or hard use knives (XM's) that..... Steel, once removed, can not be put back.
Also, a properly prepared edge while subject to some debate as to the details should perform a myriad of tasks and provide longevity between trips to the sharpening station.
