Well, I'm back ............ sorry, but you guys don't get to divvy up my tools.
Surgery went well, and I went home 48 hours after leaving the OR. I feel great, and am doing the PT's religiously.
Yesterday morning, I got out of the hospital bed at 6AM, went into the bathroom to take care of that sort of stuff, washed up, brushed my teeth and hair, etc. I chucked the hospital gowns, and decided to get dressed. I tidied the room up, made the bed, and sat down in the chair to read a book, instead of laying back down. When the case manager came by to tell me that they would start Occupational Therapy later on that day to get me able to be discharged either late that evening or today, she looked at me and laughed. She said she would call Occupational therapy to come evaluate me, as I had already done everything that they were going to teach me how to do. She asked how I got my socks on, and I told her I bent down and put them on. She couldn't believe I was able to bend that far, so I took them off and put them back on again. When OT came to evaluate if I could go home safely, I showed her ten leg lifts right off the bat. Then I had her follow me down the hall as I showed her I had no problem with the walker. She told me to turn into the stairwell, and wanted to see if I could go up and down steps. I went up the whole double set (24) without any delay. She said I didn't have to do more than 14 ( the number we have at home), and I replied that it would be easier, and safer, for me to turn around to come back down on the landing at the top, than to turn on the narrow steps. Fifteen minutes later they notified me that my PT was canceled and I could leave whenever I wanted to. (It still took them over three hours to get the paperwork done.)
I'll move this to ATG tomorrow.
The photo is me right after leaving recovery. I slipped the bottle and IV kit on the stand when no one was looking.
The Rx says:
Post-op - 25ml/hr for pain
PT and Rehab -PRN
I think ever nurse and administrator on the floor came to take a photo of it.
