OK Slackers, the Party is Over

Welcome back Mr. Apelt. Glad to hear that the surgery went well and you are recovering quickly!

Thanks for all the kind words and good thoughts.

I will move this to ATG now, as it isn't directly knife related.

The biggest pain of all this is that I couldn't hand sand blades, and do togi, during this housebound time.... I have to stay away from is anything at could cut or nick me.

Nicks and cuts=not much fun. I had a coronary stent installed last week, totally blocked
right coronary artery, they went in through the wrist. So now it's anticoagulants and thinners.
So for a while, sharp pointy things are not my friend.

Heal quickly and do the PT.

Yep, all those minute slices on the fingertips that we normally never even notice will be bleeders.

Besides my leg being bruised up by the surgical vices and tourniquet, and looking like it went through a washing machine roller ( for those old enough to know what they were), and a big ugly bruise in the bend of my right elbow where they took the last blood samples, I am happily fleshtoned for the moment.
I have a feeling when I take my TED's off in a few days to change them, I will find a few new shin bruises I can't remember getting.

BTW, I spotted my trusty walking cane in the corner of the room. I got it out, and can walk many times better and steadier with it than the walker. I might use the walker for some tasks, but for merely crossing the room, or going to the bath, there doesn't seem much sense to lugging that monstrosity. I will run it by the PT guy shortly, when he comes.

Good news, The PT lady is super pleased with my strength, balance, and how much extension and deflection I have ( 5° to 105°). She sees no problem with me using the cane around the house if I feel OK with it. The RN was here at the same time, and both are good with my plan to return to work in ten days if all continues to improve.

Just an update:
Yesterday, seven days from surgery, I took a nice walk with the PT lady. Really felt good to stretch my legs. She had a hard time keeping up with me. Another one planned for today. Incision looks really good, and the leg is getting stronger every day.

Rock on witcher bad self, Stacy! It's nice to hear continued good news. Don't push it too hard, though ;)

So glad to hear you are doing ok! Im a nurse and the beer bottle thing would of had me on the ground grasping for breath laughing so hard!

The owner of the jewelry store (my boss) came over yesterday afternoon and brought me lunch...Now, wasn't that sweet of her ;)
Of course, since she was coming, she brought about 50 watches and other repairs and estimates for me to do :D
Before I had the surgery, I told the gals to put these type jobs in a bin and send them over to the house. Took about two hours to knock it all out. Felt good to get some work done.
